CPL Mark R. Goyet Memorial VFW Post # 12160 Meetings are the first Monday of the month at the Sinton Golf Couse at 1830. We are the re-instated Veterans of Foreign Wars Post for Sinton, TX.

After a few years of the old post shutting down, a couple of veterans got together to bring a post back to Sinton. This new post will be very active in not only providing area veterans with the support and assistance they deserve, but giving back to the local community that has given so much to us already. We would not be here without the fantastic support that we have received from the City of Sinton and San Patricio County!

This year we had a large number of essays, speeches, and teacher nominations. We are so thankful to have the support of Sinton ISD Community and Deb Burnell. This year's theme was: How are you showing Patriotism and support for our country?

2025-2026 Patriots Pen (grades 6-8) winners:

1st Wilbur Whitehead
2nd Charity Bremer
3rd Ja'Ciella Richardson
***All 3 will advance to District 6

Voice of Democracy (grades 9-12) winners:

1st Jace Gonzales
2nd McKenzie Brown
3rd Cooper Green
**Jace and McKenzie will advance to District 6

Teacher of the Year winners:

6-8 Sierra Eden
9-12 Abbigale Gratski

National Night Out 2025 was a huge success. Sinton Police Department did such an amazing job coordinating this event that brings our community together. Thanks to all the kids who colored thank you's. CPL Mark R. Goyet VFW Post 12160 Auxiliary will be presenting them to a veteran on Veteran's Day.
