This week, Dominican Associate of Sinsinawa Mary Goonan reflects on Gods gift to us, Jesus Christ!

"In Jeremiah and Romans, Paul and Jeremiah have the strong confidence of being saved! Paul conveys this confidence by building out the typology of Christ as the new Adam (representing all people, women, men, etc.) 'workbook for Lectors 2026'

"Do not be afraid! Fear no more. Have no fear!

"Our confidence and spirituality will prevail!

"Have we not known that God's care can live side-by-side with our hardship? We have not been created and then thrown into the world to fend for ourselves. God cares for us more than for the sparrows. God knows everything there is to know about us: our fears, our thoughts, our goals, everything. Why do we think God should rescue us from pain instead of strengthening us in the pain? Wouldn't that be closer to the divine power that Jeremiah hints at?

"Only part of this picture is doom and gloom. The other half is shining with HOPE! Paul assures us that the greatest gift God offers us is far greater than our temptations brought on by life in this crazy world! The gift is Jesus Christ! The gift is all beyond our hopes and dreams. JC is the comfort that will overcome our disappointments. He is the strength that will help us make it through the misunderstanding and hardship that come with being a disciple - living the mission. We are called to recognize the truth of Jesus in front of the world boldly and we are promised that Jesus will stand up for us before God!

"The light shines in the darkness.

"There is hope especially in the moments of suffering!

"Will we seek out the light and hope?

"Oh God, we live and breathe and walk in your being. Bless us all!"
