TOMORROW!

As stewards of this land, we are fortunate to witness the abundance of this world when we are in service of one another, living in reciprocity and understanding that all life on this planet is interconnected whether visible to us or not.

It is imperative that the conditions are such that we ALL thrive. In a time where those conditions are threatened more and more with each day, it becomes even more necessary that each of us use our gifts, talents, and resources to create those conditions.

Our gift is our seeds that Mother Nature provides each year at a mind blowing magnitude. It is the gift of life itself and a promise that with the right care, we can all grow. They serve no purpose to hoard, they are meant to be shared freely.

We look forward to sharing Mother Nature's gift and the stories of the fruits that brought the seeds to us (the volunteers, families, and children who planted and cared for them as they grew!) so that you can continue the legacy of nourishment in your garden.

We encourage you to bring your own excess seeds to share as well! (No worries if you don't have any - we have enough to share with you!)

*Due to mud and wind, we will be setting up in the large pavilion in the park rather than the farm from 10am - noon.

As CT Grown For CT Kids grant recipients, I can attest to the importance of this funding. Our young people deserve healthy, delicious, nourishing foods. Exposing kids to local foods and farms promotes life long health AND supports our local farms at the same time. The money spent at local farms goes back into our communities. It improves physical health of students, supports students ability to learn, and improves local economies. It is a worthy investment into a better future.
Your action can help make sure it happens:

2. Talk to others about why you feel it's important
3. Encourage others to contact their Representative

What we eat growing up has a huge impact on our life long health. That can be a source of stress for parents who want the best for their child, but are competing with companies that make foods that are addictive to young tasted buds.
What if your child was able to better understand their taste preferences, connect nutrition to their everyday life, and uncover how companies are tricking them? What if your child felt empowered to create foods that aren't just healthy, but that they love the taste of? This is a skill that will serve them well for a lifetime while easing battles at home.
Join me for a 3 part series on healthy snacks. We will explore the science of taste and texture, learn our personal preference and how to apply that to recipes while also gaining an understanding of nutrition and why it is so important. We will create snack recipes that are packed with nutrition yet delicious!

It's almost here!
The brightest light is seen in the darkest hour. There is no light without darkness.
I can't wait to celebrate with all of you on the farm as we embrace the darkness and it's call to rest while we welcome back the light to our lives.
This will be a family celebration with fun activities. Be sure to DRESS WARM! and bring a reusable mug to enjoy some tea or hot chocolate.
*Note that from 10-11:30 masks will be required to create a safe celebration for those who require covid safe spaces. (And they will help keep our face warm! It's gonna be cold)

It is up to us to be the change we want to see

Nobody is coming to save us.

Our planet is suffering - the land, the water, the plants, the animals, and the people. There are real things we can all do to mitigate harm and it will take each of us honestly and earnestly doing our part.

I encourage you to pay close attention to where your money goes this holiday season. What kind of world are you supporting through those dollars?

Food Justice and Food Sovereignty are the way forward. How we grow our food, who has access to food, how we use our food, and how we waste food all determine the health and sustainability of our planet and all that inhabit it.
