Help support our two local hero’s from Hartford and Rocky Hill PD. These two have a long road to recovery ahead of them. 💙

Our thoughts and prayers are with them and their families as they heal!

One incident. Two officers. Two departments. One community behind them. 💙

Officer Jon Escobar of the Rocky Hill Police Department and Officer Alexander Diaz of the Hartford Police Department were both shot in the line of duty while protecting their communities.

Today, both officers are recovering, and two separate verified fundraisers are live on FundTheFirst.com to help support them and their families through the road ahead.

This is what FundTheFirst was built for — giving first responders, families, friends and communities a trusted place to turn when one of their own needs help.

They took a bullet protecting others. Now it’s our turn to stand behind them.

Donate. Share. Support.

Visit FundTheFirst.com to find both fundraisers.

If you knew Robbie, he know he was truly one of a kind; A true Community police officer and the best family man. Our hearts and prayers go out to Robbie’s wife Jen, his boys, his family and the men and women of Torrington PD.

It is with profound sadness that the Torrington Police Department announces the passing of retired Officer Robert “Robbie” Simon following a courageous battle with cancer.

Robbie joined the Torrington Police Department in September 2007 and faithfully served our community for 17 years before retiring in the fall of 2024. Throughout his career, he served in several important roles, including patrol officer, Community Policing Officer, Police Activities League Officer, and member of the Department’s Special Emergency Response Team.

Robbie was a valued and deeply respected member of our department. He was loved not only by his fellow officers, but also by the many members of the community whose lives he touched. His infectious laugh, warm smile, and unmistakable sense of humor will be greatly missed.

We extend our deepest condolences to Robbie’s family, friends, former colleagues, and all who knew and loved him during this incredibly difficult time.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been finalized. Additional information will be shared when it becomes available.

Rest in peace, Robbie. Your service, friendship, and memory will never be forgotten.
