YMCA Trail Blazers Greenville SC Trail Blazer programs launch parents and their children on a journey of discovery, with the child as the explorer and the parent as the guide.

Designed to help a parent and a child build a strong, long lasting relationship by spending quality time together doing enjoyable activities that help promote communication. Trail Blazers encourages parents to get to know your kid while your kid is still a kid with group activities such as games, crafts, songs, stories, skits, ceremonies, and outdoor pursuits such as camping, hiking and swimming.

The one-on-one time in a fun, special environment builds important bonds through shared experiences. The Y Trail Blazers are father/child pairs who are grouped into Expeditions from the surrounding community. Expeditions take part in monthly events. Events include two campouts and a Service Weekend at YMCA Camp Greenville, a primitive campout at Congaree National Forest, a Cake Bake/Chili cook-off, and the Father/Daughter semi-formal Valentine’s Dance. The commitment is small and the payoff is huge!
