Episco-Cats Colony

For many years, our church, Holy Cross Episcopal Church, has had a feral (non- domesticated) cats colony living at the back of our church property. We even have a fox or two, who live nearby, visit quite often. About four years ago, with the blessing of our priest, Rev. Mike Flanagan, and our Vestry, a mission to care

for these cats - "the least of these" - began. This mission is to provide our cats with shelter and care throughout the year. This involves feeding each day, providing some comfortable shelter from the weather, both rain and cold, and most importantly; trap, neuter and release cats back to the colony as non-vetted cats arrive. This last item - trap, neuter, and release is essential to stop the reproduction cycle and address life threatening disease (leukemia, feline HIV, etc.) in a timely manner. We work with Our Local Simpsonville Veterinarian Cedar Lake Animal Hospital and we paid a fee for all veterinarian work. This ministry operates solely through the donation of food, bedding supplies and cash. As a fellow "animal lover," we invite you to support us. As a non-profit organization, you will be provided with documentation to verify your donation for tax deductible purposes. A group of Ladies at Holy Cross Episcopal Church donate their time and effort to feeding our cats every day and be sure they are having a good life, and (our feline friends reciprocate in catching all the local varmints in the area).
