The Simla Historical Society would like to wish everyone a happy and safe memorial day weekend. Remember, this weekend is for those who gave their lives in service of their country and never made it out of their uniform.

Simla Cemetery is the final resting place of just one soldier that was killed in action, a 19 year old boy who was killed in South Korea during the Korean War just 6 months into his deployment.

I had the honor of attending the 2026 graduation for Big Sandy School today, and Id like to wish the seniors of Simla, Calhan and Peyton all good luck and congratulations!

The Historical Society would also like to give a huge thank you to the maintenance team in Simla for cleaning up the cemetery. We had the intention to do so, but they beat us to it! We appreciate them!

The Simla Historical Society would like to thank all of you who made it out to help volunteer for Wreaths Across America in Simla and Ramah today! It was a success! Please know that your time means everything to not only me, but to the families who cannot attend, and to the veterans who arent forgotten.

Id also like to thank my mom and uncle for loading wreaths, pulling them to their locations, and helping distribute. A huge thank you to Jim Bugbee who donated his big rig, time, and gas & Marvin the driver with Leonard Express Trucking who drove our wreaths from Maine to Colorado on time!

NONE of what we accomplished could be done without our awesome volunteers. And on behalf of a grateful community, thank you once again to our veterans, and their families. Its our honor to remember you & your sacrifices.
