We provide innovative, peer-based grief support programs for widowed people of all genders, sexual orientation, and marriage status. We work hard to provide a national network of support for anyone grieving the loss of someone they love – with a special emphasis on those who have been widowed. SSI offers a variety of programs intended to connect our members for the two-fold purpose of providing pe

er based support opportunities, and connecting the many wonderful organizations that provide services offering comfort for those traveling the difficult journey of grief. Soaring Spirits International is an inclusive, non-denominational organization focused on hope and healing through the grieving process. We are positive, and forward thinking, while focusing on offering our members the tools and resources they need to rebuild their lives in the aftermath of the death of a loved one.

In her recent blog post, our Widow's Voice writer Liliana reflects on what has made her feel strong and empowered along her journey through widowhood. She emphasizes a truth that we see evidenced every day: widowed people are bada$$!

"We continue to face life after the most horrific event of our lives. We’ve learned to fix toilets (even if we don’t want to!), call insurance companies, manage finances, nurture kids and/or pets, renew the car registration, make meals, and do hair, and so much more, on our own. All while fighting with everything we have left to recover from the traumatic brain, body, and soul injury that is losing your person."

Hi friends! We're making some important behind-the-scenes upgrades to help us better serve the Soaring Spirits community -- and we want to make sure you are in the loop.

As we transition to new systems, you may notice a few changes, including updates to our donation page, occasional communication hiccups, or slightly slower response times.

Grief is a full body experience. Losing our partner can cause not just emotional pain, but physical pain. Muscle tightness, knots and pains, soreness are common symptoms of grief.
