Meet Sherman! He is a Companion-Champion looking for his forever home! Sherman is a fur ball fluff in the winter and a pure white (but always dirty) grey horse in the summer. What's great about Sherman is that he loves water and enjoys taking baths when it's hot!
Sherman is 22 yrs old and approximately 15.3hh. He's a good boy who loves attention from little girls. Sherman's riding days were over long before he came to us, but he's young enough to give your family a ton of love and affection for many more years with maintenance. Luna is doing exceptionally well in foster care! This lovely filly is just barely 2 yrs old and was dumped at the Lancaster Animal Shelter because of her small cleft palate. She's thriving on a diet of soaked pellets, growing, filling out, becoming more confident and showing her rainbow of colors daily! Please consider sponsoring Luna

This horse is still missing on the property of Villa Chardonnay Sanctuary in Julian. He was taken there from the Baldwin Hills Shelter in Sept 2024. He is approx 26 yrs old and a QH type gelding around 15.3 hh sorrel with dun stripe. His name was Ricky. If you adopted him or have spotted him, please contact us to let us know his status and condition. Thank you

For the 1st time in 10 years, we are looking for Qualified Adopters for our Very Special Companion Champion Horses. We have Sweet and Beautiful Horses and Ponies for Adoption in Ventura County, CA. Safe for Kids and Beginners on the Ground with Good Manners and Kind, Well Behaved Demeanors. These Non-Rideable Equines come Current on Farrier, Vet, and Dental Care, and We Know Them Well. We have Loved These Equines for Nearly 10 Years. They are Healthy, Pasture Sound, and Good with Other Horses. We would Consider Forever Foster Contract or Adoption. Adopters and Fosters are Welcome to Continue Boarding Them Where They are Currently Boarded in Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, and Santa Rosa Valley if You Don't Own Your Own Ranch. Update 5/30/26- These horses are still missing from the property of Villa Chardonnay Sanctuary in Julian, last seen by us in July 2025. Please contact us if you adopted them, spotted them somewhere on the property or know what happened to them.
1.) Barrister age 24 TB/WB type bay gelding with pe**le sheath defect apprx 16hh - taken to Villa with Tiny in 2021
2.) Tiny age 32 bay BLM freeze branded Titled BLM Mustang gelding appr. 13 hh - not people friendly- taken to Villa in 2021 with Barrister
3.) Stradivarius age 25 black Hanoverian type gelding appr 16hh - taken to Villa in 2016
4.) Tina- approx 14hh Mustang mare from Oregon approx 22 yrs old - sent to Villa Chardonnay Sanctuary in 2017

These horses were sent straight from Animal Shelters and private party surrenders or abandonment situations by our referral and we need answers for their former owners. We dont know if they are alive, dead, or have been moved. We last personally saw Adonis in July 2025 in the same pasture with the huge arched tent. We did not get close enough to the others to confirm if they are still there. We would appreciate info on where these horses are since SDHS has not been able to locate them and we are not getting a response from Villa Chardonnay Sanctuary. Please PM us with details if you have adopted or found any of these horses. We just want to be sure they are safe or know if they have been removed from the property or have deceased. Thank you.
