It's time to get the kids registered with United Jr. Panther Football & Cheer for the upcoming season. They have in person registration tonight and tomorrow morning, and the equipment handout for tackle football is tomorrow. NEW THIS YEAR: Flag Football for 5th- 8th grade girls.

School at Silvis School District #34 starts on Wednesday, and we are excited to begin another year of providing books to every student in first and second grade. These books are theirs to keep, take home, and use to grow their reading comprehension. If YOU would like to help, SPONSOR a STUDENT today! Scholastic no longer has the $1 books, but we are grateful for the community and staff support of this ongoing project.

We will be getting shirts printed for the club members and anyone who would like to get one to support the club. We're going with highlighter color t-shirts and the Lions Clubs International logo on the back in black, with the club name on the front. It is always nice to plan ahead, so see you all in 3 months for the Silvis Public Library annual Trunk or Treat. We LOVE this event and greatly enjoy the 1,000+ kids who come through every year.

Reminder to our friends and fellow community members: the Silvis Lions Club has an in person meeting May 21 at 6:00PM at Lobo's Salsa (1152 15th Ave, East Moline, IL 61244). Bring your friends and families, and let's get rolling on a new direction for the club. The City of Silvis and Silvis Main Street have many local service groups, and when we come together we can accomplish a lot.
