Leadership Kitsap was founded with the purpose of developing community leaders in Kitsap County who will serve as catalysts for positive future change. Leadership Kitsap is dedicated to training tomorrow's leaders and giving them the background, contacts and tools they will need to shape and direct our future. Each year, Leadership Kitsap sponsors a ten-month program of educational seminars. These

seminars consist of nine one-day Challenge Days, one two-day retreat and a Leadership Development Day. Participants also work in teams on wide-ranging community projects of their own design. The program begins in September and ends with a graduation ceremony in June of the following year. Leadership Kitsap is designed to build upon a tradition of solid leadership in our community. With each graduating class, Leadership Kitsap increases the number of informed and vigorous civic volunteers who understand the needs of the community and are committed to meeting its challenges.

The Marketing and Media Coordinator plays a critical role in advancing Leadership Kitsap’s mission to empower community leaders to be educated, prepared, and engaged. This role manages multiple tasks and people simultaneously in a fast-paced environment where excellence is highly valued.

This is a part-time, hybrid position working 20 hours per week.

Join us on April 15th at Vibe Coworks to talk about to Lead Through Change with Doug Nathan.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn and practice with:

● Separate the person from the behavior so difficult actions can be addressed without dehumanizing anyone

● Recognize common “drama roles” (victim, persecutor, rescuer) and invite shifts toward responsibility and purpose

● Use brain-based tools to regulate emotions and build empathy during charged conversations

● Create a plan for addressing conflict issues at the appropriate systems levels for sustained change.

DOUG NATHAN has been coaching leaders for more than 20 years using systemic approaches that enhance individual performance, team dynamics, and inclusive workplace cultures. Bringing a strengths-based, whole-systems approach to his coaching and consulting, Doug doesn’t focus on just the individual—he looks at connections between people with evidence-based practices to develop leaders and teams. In his free time, Doug enjoys scuba-diving, kayaking, sailing, cycling, and enjoying the wonderful chaos of life with his family

Jessica Combs is the Executive Director of the Downtown Bremerton Association, where she is injecting energy into downtown revitalization while preserving its history through the Main Street Approach. A catalyst for change, she oversees activation of Quincy Square and leads the Official Bremerton Fan Zone for the FIFA World Cup 2026, bringing six weeks of global energy and a legacy LED video wall to the city.

With a background in mixed-use property development marketing and tourism, including roles at McBride Cohen and the Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce, Jessica is focused on creating opportunity, supporting local businesses, and making Bremerton a place people want to be — and keep coming back to.
