It is with great sorrow and regret that the Kitsap Derby Brats has to announce that we will be forced to cease operations for the 2016-17 season. Due to a change in the agreement we had with Kitsap County Parks and Recreation we are left without a practice facility. After months of searching for an alternate facility, re-negotiations with the parks and rec department and a drastic increase in facility cost, we are once again found without a home. This is the third time this season that we have been in this situation and we're afraid we have exhausted our resources within the county.

This is an absolutely amazing group of girls with an incredible passion for this sport. Over the last few years we have seen them pushed to the test, season after season, to prove their passion for this sport. They've overcome so many obstacles, including practicing in sub freezing temperatures, to show their true dedication and devotion to this league and family known as the Kitsap Derby Brats. I know that in the days to come we will see some amazing things come from each and every one of these stunning individuals. They are driven and ready to hit the track and any team with the good fortune to find one of these skaters within their ranks is truly blessed.

The Kitsap Derby Brats would like to thank all of the great volunteers and sponsors that we've had over the years. Without you, we would not have been able to create this amazing, safe and empowering environment for these young ladies. From the Refs, NSO's, parent volunteers and board members to the amazing Unity Skate Shop, who has supported our league since they opened their doors, the Kitsap Derby Brats would like to extend a truly heartfelt "Thank You". You are truly appreciated!

Wow! What an absolutely AMAZING event yesterday! 4 teams, 6 games and 68 skaters, all between the ages of 6 and 12 on one track. It all came together in one day to show the world what junior roller derby really is and we did just that. The sportsmanship and true purity of this game was on display for everyone who was present to see and it was unbelievable!
The energy that was displayed at this tournament yesterday was unbelievable. After 6 hours of playing, during some down time, an intense game of "Sharks and Minnows" broke out in the warm up area. These kids were chasing eachother down on skates for the pure fun of it. Where else are you going to see that kind of action? WE NEED MORE OF THIS!!!
So much work went into making this happen. Too many names come to mind and myself and the Kitsap Derby Brats organization would like to thank each and every one of you who helped make this tournament happen! A big and special shout out to all of tournament heads for bringing such amazing crews together that ensured it was a safe experience as well as a fun experience!

Roller Derby is an amazing sport and the Kitsap Derby Brats are a wonderful team. A team that gives 100%, they play strong and work hard, this sport call roller derby brings them together. Not only has KDB had a great and fun season but their champs bout was off the charts! Thank you to the visiting team NWO Junior Roller Derby from Canada you were amazing to watch and photograph, your girls rock!

It's a little late coming but the Kitsap Derby Brats would like to send a HUGE shout out to all the amazing volunteers that made our last bout, the Empire Skates Back, happen. To Stacy -our head ref for this bout who wrangled up all the amazing referees that made sure that it was a fair game for all. To Rob- our head NSO who wrangled up all the amazing non-skating officials who have so many jobs I can't begin to list. To Jaymee-our head EMT who had a crew at the ready to make sure that all of these skaters were safe in our hands at the game. To Trisha for capturing all these amazing moments. And to all the parents that volunteered their time with everything from set-up to tear-down and everything in between, thank you all so very much for your dedication to this great sport and these kids love it so much! You are all truly amazing!!!
