Pray this for the next seven days
Pray Luke 24:48–49 “You are witnesses of these things. And behold, I am sending the promise of My Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.” (Luke 24:48–49). Jesus calls His disciples to a new mission, a changing world, and a dependence on the Holy Spirit rather than past experience.
1. “You are witnesses of these things.” (Luke 24:48)
Lord, give us courage to embrace the greater adventure You are calling us to.
Pray that God helps us move beyond fear, comfort, and hesitation. Give us the faith and courage to step into the larger mission You have prepared for us.
2. “As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” (John 20:21)
Lord, equip us to lead people faithfully through a changing world.
Pray that God helps Grant us wisdom and discernment to guide people through rapid change while remaining faithful to Christ and His gospel.
3. “Stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.” (Luke 24:49)
Lord, help us recognize that the mission field before us is different from the one behind us.
Pray that God helps keep us from assuming that yesterday’s methods alone will meet today’s challenges. Open our eyes to the realities of the world before us and teach us how to minister effectively within it.
4. “Repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all nations.” (Luke 24:47)
Lord, clarify our core convictions and help us release anything that hinders Your mission.
Pray that God anchor us in the unchanging truths of the gospel while giving us the humility to let go of traditions, preferences, and habits that hinder the advance of Your kingdom.
5. “Behold, I am sending the promise of My Father upon you.” (Luke 24:49)
Lord, teach us not to rely solely on what has worked in the past.
Pray that God helps us trust in the fresh leading and empowering of the Holy Spirit rather than merely repeating past successes. Keep us dependent upon You.
6. “Stay… until you are clothed with power from on high.” (Luke 24:49)
Lord, transform us before You use us to transform others.
Pray that God helps begin Your renewing work in us. Shape our hearts, minds, and character so that our leadership flows from a life continually transformed by Your Spirit.
7. “You are witnesses of these things… until you are clothed with power from on high.” (Luke 24:48–49) Lord, clothe us with the power of the Holy Spirit for faithful witness.
Fill us afresh with the Holy Spirit so that we may witness boldly, serve faithfully, love sacrificially, and glorify Christ in all we do.
Pray that as the Risen Lord sent His first disciples into a changing world, send us. He Give us courage for the adventure ahead, clarity in our convictions, flexibility in our methods, transformation in our hearts, and the power of the Holy Spirit for the mission He has entrusted to us.
