We have more than food here at the pantry! Our Community Health Workers can offer tips about nutrition, health and wellness. We also have tabletop blood pressure units, and free copies of The Dandelion wellness magazine, which lists local resources. We even have good books to read and a free clothing box. Best of all, the food pantry is a place to connect with your neighbors. If you're interested in becoming a volunteer, we'd love to have you!

LIVE MUSIC AND MORE TONIGHT AUG 15th AT LAHONTAN: Experience live music and the magic of Nevada's night skies during the second annual Cosmos in the Desert: Nevada's Dark Skies Festival at Lahontan State Recreation Area. The Saturday, August 15, 2026 festival at Lahontan State Recreation Area includes live music from the Rebekah Chase Band from 8pm-11pm, a star viewing party from 8pm-11pm, 🤘 and live painting by Alli Harvey from 8pm- 11pm🎨 Music, etc. are free, but park entry fees apply ($5 for NV registered vehicles, $10 for out of state vehicles). Here at the food pantry, we also have books to feed your mind. Among them, Sid Fleischman's 1963 book 'By the Great Horn Spoon.' It's a fiction book that begins with two stowaways, a boy named Jack and Praiseworthy, his family’s butler. This humorous story describes their journey from Boston down around South America, through the Strait of Magellan, and on to California to mine gold. Once they arrive in California the escapades and humor continue. * We have lots of books at the moment and are not currently accepting more donations. Please feel free to take books home with you when you visit the pantry.

We have a special treat this week: chocolate covered dried coconut snacks! While supplies last, we also have fresh tomatoes, pears, eggs, milk, smoked turkey lunch meat, fish sticks, ground chicken, and Boost protein shakes. As usual, we also have a variety of beans, canned vegetables, and a several kinds of bread. We’re open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8am -5pm. We look forward to seeing you!
