Several years ago, friends and family of Sonya and Kathleen Vasquez started walking to honor their memory and raise money for su***de prevention. Sonya, age 25, was the proud oldest of four girls, who loved salsa dancing, graduated from University of Maryland, and had her Masters in Business. Kathleen, age 15, was a high school student and artist who loved music and playing guitar. Surviving siste
rs, Laura and Jen, are dedicated to su***de prevention and awareness with the support of family and friends. Since then, Viva Vasquez has grown to embody resilience, solidarity for a cause, and hope for the future. To date, the team has raised over $10,000 for su***de prevention and the team grows every year.
