🌲🐾 Camping With Six Dogs: A Follow-Up Nobody Asked For 😂 🐾🌲
So… remember when I said we went camping with SIX dogs?
Yeah. I survived. 😂
And apparently, so did the dogs.
But here’s the funny part: I barely spent any time on social media while we were gone.
Not because I suddenly became a responsible adult.
I was just too busy doing important things like:
☕ 🍷🍺Drinking coffee, wine, or beer depending on the time of day
🐾 Counting dogs… repeatedly
🐶 Asking “WHO POOPED OVER THERE?”
🦴 Spreading the snack love
😂 Laughing at ridiculous dog behavior
🌲 Sitting outside doing absolutely nothing
📖 Reading great books
🔥 Staring at a campfire like it was therapy
🐕 Counting dogs again because apparently SIX is a number I cannot trust myself to remember
And honestly?
It was GLORIOUS. ❤️
For a few days, I stepped away from the noise. No worrying about algorithms. No obsessing over posts. No constantly checking my phone.
Just me, my husband, six very spoiled special-needs bulldogs, fresh air, trees, campfires, and approximately 47,000 dog-related interruptions.
The dogs got enrichment.
I got enrichment.
Although I'm pretty sure my enrichment involved significantly more coffee. ☕😂
Rescue life is beautiful, but it can also be exhausting. There is always another dog who needs help, another message waiting, another fundraiser, another emergency.
Sometimes you just have to unplug and remember why we're doing all of this in the first place.
And watching six rescue dogs experience camping, explore new smells, nap in the sunshine, hang out around the campfire and just enjoy being dogs?
That was worth every single muddy paw print.
Would I take six special-needs bulldogs camping again?
Absolutely.
Would I recommend it?
…Let's discuss that after I've had another cup of coffee. 😂☕🐾
Sometimes you don't need a vacation FROM the dogs. You just need a vacation WITH the dogs. ❤️🌲
