On behalf of Restoration Lindale, Inc., we are in need of donations for Ol’ Pepperell. The Lindale Firetruck is in need of a new set of tires. It’s been 45 years since the mill put new tires on the Firetruck. 🚒 HELP US KEEP A PIECE OF LINDALE HISTORY ON THE ROAD! 🚒
We’re reaching out to our community to ask for your help raising money for new tires for the Ol’ Pepperell fire truck.
This truck is more than just an old fire truck — it’s a piece of Lindale’s history, and we want to see it preserved for future generations to enjoy. It’s the last rolling piece of Pepperell Mill history left. We are raising funds to help get this historic truck the tires it needs and keep it safe and road-ready.
Every donation, big or small, will make a difference. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this post. You never know who might be willing to help!

Today Jason and I got to meet our new Berry College freshman for their “First Year Service Day” . The group of 23 students joined Restoration Lindale, Inc. this morning in the Lindale Cemetery for some much needed work. Restoration Lindale, Inc. and the Lindale community are so blessed and honored to have Berry as our community/business partner and as advisor we wouldn’t be where we are in the Lindale community without them. For 20 years Berry students have spent countless days and hours serving our town. So please join me in thanking them for their service.

12th Annual Lindale Independence Day Celebration Festival, Parade, & Car Show :

Saturday June, 27th from 9-1pm

-Parade lineup at Pepperell Primary 9:30am
Parade starts at 10am.

Parade is FREE to join us, we would love your participation to help us celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary 🇺🇸

-Festival at the Gilbreath Center (Lindale Park)
9-1pm.

-Car Show at the Gilbreath Center (Lindale Park)
9-1pm ($20 to enter your Car, Truck, Tractor, Motorcycle. Donation helps us with our Christmas programs and beautification projects.

Restoration Lindale, Inc. is so honored to announce our 2026 Lindale Independence Day Celebration Parade Grand Marshal, Mr. Marlin Gilmer. For the past 55 years, Mr. Gilmer has dedicated his life to serving the Lindale community. After graduating from Jacksonville State University, he moved to the Lindale area in 1971 and began teaching history and religion at Pepperell High School. Over the next 30 years, he positively impacted the lives of countless students through his commitment to education, leadership, and service.

In 1980, Mr. Gilmer became Assistant Principal of Pepperell High School, where he continued to serve as an exemplary leader for students, faculty, and the community. As a Lindale Legend, his dedication and influence helped shape generations of Pepperell students and established a legacy that continues to be felt today.

Even after retiring from Pepperell High School in 2001, Mr. Gilmer remained actively involved, working part-time at home sporting events and continuing to support the school and community he loves. His lifelong commitment, outstanding leadership, and unwavering service have left an enduring mark on the Pepperell and Lindale community.

Adding to this special year, Marlin and his wife, Elaine, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June. Mr. & Mrs. Gilmer, have one daughter, Marla, that graduated from Pepperell High in 1997.

Please join us in honoring Mr. Marlin Gilmer for his dedication to the Pepperell students and the Lindale Community.

Restoration Lindale, Inc. will announce our 2026 Grand Marshal for the Lindale Independence Day Parade set for Saturday June 27th at 10am, with a lineup at Pepperell Primary School @ 9:30am
Parade will travel from Dragon Drive to Lindale First Baptist Church. We Welcome EVERYONE to participate.
