Wolfsong Sanctuary We are dedicated to saving the lives of, caring for, and providing a forever home to wolf-hybrids; and to educating the public about wolves and wolf-dogs.

Native Americans say that wolves
taught the first people how to be people. Their lessons were simple:

Mate for life. Care for your children. Teach them useful skills and respect. Be loyal to family. WolfSong Sanctuary is dedicated to saving the lives of wolf hybrids. These unique and beautiful animals have no place in either the domesticated world or the wild. WolfSong Sanctuary hosts tours of the sanctuary and offers talks and presentations on wolves and wolf preservation. At WolfSong, visitors of all ages can view, touch and feed the wolves. The Sanctuary’s Director, Deirdre Wolf (yes, that’s really her name) even provides transportation to the site, located in the mountains north of Silver City, New Mexico. The wolves of WolfSong Sanctuary have arrived here after lives of abuse and near-death. Some were scheduled for euthanasia, others beaten and abandoned. The Sanctuary offers them a new life in a pack of their own, safe on Sanctuary land in large comfortable enclosures, enjoying human and animal company and the occasional treat or two. Like wolves in the wild, WolfSong’s residents are shy and non-aggressive toward humans. WolfSong Sanctuary is a nonprofit organization, supported by volunteers and donations. The Sanctuary provides a home for those who have no other refuge, and keeps the magic of the wild alive and open to all. It needs your help to survive. Dear Grant County Members and Supporters,

Please join us at the Grant County Commission Meeting (1400 US-180, Silver City, NM 88061) this Thursday, February 12th, at 9:00 am to show support for Our Lady of Guadalupe Monastery in their opposition to the new mining threat in Pinos Altos.

In addition to threatening the historic village of Pinos Altos, the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail, and two Inventoried Roadless Areas (IRAs)—which safeguard irreplaceable wildlife habitat and primitive recreation opportunities among many other values- the new mining claims are also located in close proximity to the monastery.

We are seeking to show strong community opposition to mining in and around Pinos Altos at Thursday’s County Commission meeting by turning out a large number of concerned citizens. In order to give the monks space to present their perspective to the Commission, please show your support with your presence and consider saving your comments for future opportunities to make your voice heard—there will be plenty more.

We plan to pack the house. We’ll see you there.

For those who don’t know: The Nuremberg Trials (1945 - 1949) placed central leaders of N**i Germany on the stand to face justice for their crimes related to the Holocaust, crimes against humanity, and crimes of war. The trials were also effective in revealing evidence to the general public and delegitimizing N**i propaganda.
