Wolfsong Sanctuary We are dedicated to saving the lives of, caring for, and providing a forever home to wolf-hybrids; and to educating the public about wolves and wolf-dogs.

Native Americans say that wolves

Mate for life. Care for your children. Teach them useful skills and respect. Be loyal to family. WolfSong Sanctuary is dedicated to saving the lives of wolf hybrids. These unique and beautiful animals have no place in either the domesticated world or the wild. WolfSong Sanctuary hosts tours of th

e sanctuary and offers talks and presentations on wolves and wolf preservation. At WolfSong, visitors of all ages can view, touch and feed the wolves. The Sanctuary’s Director, Deirdre Wolf (yes, that’s really her name) even provides transportation to the site, located in the mountains north of Silver City, New Mexico. The wolves of WolfSong Sanctuary have arrived here after lives of abuse and near-death. Some were scheduled for euthanasia, others beaten and abandoned. The Sanctuary offers them a new life in a pack of their own, safe on Sanctuary land in large comfortable enclosures, enjoying human and animal company and the occasional treat or two. Like wolves in the wild, WolfSong’s residents are shy and non-aggressive toward humans. WolfSong Sanctuary is a nonprofit organization, supported by volunteers and donations. The Sanctuary provides a home for those who have no other refuge, and keeps the magic of the wild alive and open to all. It needs your help to survive. This dog is about to unjustly murdered by the system. His people are desperately trying to save him, but every lawyer they contact either can't or won't take the case. They live in Tennessee. If anyone out there knows a lawyer who can help them, please connect them!

At long last! After what? Three years? Five years? New photos from Wolfsong!

Deirdre doesn’t have a camera, and I don’t get up there very often, and of course in 2020 nobody got anywhere at all!

But a new wolfdog took up residence two days ago and all the stars were right so I went up to meet him.

Someone who is bringing a wolf to Wolfsong is trying to call Deirdre. She wasn't in and missed the calls. They didn't leave a number. (Nobody bothers to leave numbers these days because everybody has a cell phone which has a record of everything.) But all Deirdre has is a landline, without even Caller ID. (I respect her Luddite attitude, but she really should get Caller ID!) Anyway, I'm posting this here, in case the people come to her page to try to get in touch.

Wildlife Services is federal wildlife-killing program which targets wolves, coyotes, cougars, birds and other wild animals, primarily to benefit the agriculture industry. Tell the Grant County commission to say “no” to renewing its contract with this agency.
