💙🤍 Last night at our Board Meeting, we had the opportunity to recognize several outstanding students from across Silver Consolidated Schools for being selected as Kiwanis Club of Silver City Students of the Month. These recognitions are always special because they remind us that leadership, character, kindness, and perseverance are alive and well in our schools.

⭐ Reagan “Goji” Turrieta, Silver High School
⭐ Leilani Hoffman, La Plata Middle School

These students were recognized not only for their academic success, but also for the way they treat others, the example they set on campus, and the positive impact they have on their classmates and teachers each day. From maintaining strong grades while balancing extracurricular activities, to quietly helping classmates, showing compassion, stepping up as leaders, and representing their schools with pride… each of these students reflects the very best of our communities.

One of the things I appreciate most about these recognitions is that they highlight different kinds of strengths. Some students lead loudly, others lead quietly, but all of them make a difference.

Thank you to our staff members who took the time to nominate and encourage these students along the way. And to our students, thank you for representing your schools and communities so well. We’re proud of each one of you. 💙🤍

Thank you Grant County Beat

The Kiwanis Club, with helpers from the high school Key Club, held their annual Easter Egg Hunt at Penny Park on Saturday, April 4, 2026. Kids of all ages, along with their parents for the smaller ones, searched for "hidden" eggs, most of which had candy in them, and others had special prizes.
