n activities while emphasizing relationships members have with each other and with adult leaders. It helps young people make appropriate choices in their physical, social, emotional, vocational, and spiritual lives. It assures that all girls and boys can afford to belong. Membership dues are kept low, and those who can’t afford membership are given scholarships to join. No one is turned away. Boys and Girls Club of Hardin County opened its doors in the spring of 2010 with after-school activities during school months and full-day services during the summers. Our partnership with the local school district (Silsbee ISD) allows us to use a school district gymnasium as our site and allows students to ride school buses to our site after school. The students have snacks and structured homework time on arrival. High school age students help with tutoring, dance, and other recreation all under the watchful eyes of our adult staff.
