So true!

As we honor the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. we’re lifting up a Shero who refuses to let his work or his sacrifice be reduced to a moment in time.

Bernice King carries the legacy forward with courage and clarity. As a global thought leader, minister, and CEO of The King Center, she continues to speak truth to power, challenge injustice, and remind us that Dr. King’s legacy is not something to be remembered once a year, it is something to be lived every day.

In her own words, she recently offered a powerful reminder for this moment:

“Hateful, power-driven, perverted ideology won’t overcome us. We will overcome it with strategic, courageous, love-infused coalition building, communication, organized action, and community care.”

This is what living the legacy looks like.
Not silence but courage.
Not nostalgia but action.
Not individualism but community care.

May we honor Dr. King by doing the work, together. 💜

Behind every great movement are women whose labor, brilliance, and sacrifice too often go unnamed.

As we honor Martin Luther King Jr. today, we also honor Coretta Scott King a visionary leader who helped propel the message, sustain the movement, and carry the work forward when the world was watching and when it wasn’t.

This is a reminder for Black women everywhere:
Your work matters.
Your voice matters.
And history is shaped because of you , even when credit comes late.

Black America—real question.
What are we demanding from this administration that we once expected President Obama to magically deliver?
Back then, folks wanted him to make it rain, fix 400 years overnight, and perform miracles with Congress fighting him every step of the way. Now?
Are we asking this administration for reparations?
For jobs?
For equity programs?
Because let’s be honest—those doors are being closed, not opened.
It’s funny how the hands turn.
The silence is loud.
If we could speak up then, we better speak up now.
If accountability mattered then, it matters now.
If policy mattered then, it matters now.
This isn’t about parties—it’s about people.
It’s about consistency.
It’s about knowing when to clap, when to question, and when to challenge power—no matter who’s in the chair.
Closed mouths don’t get fed.
History is watching.

🗣️ Speak up now.

What it means: Adds to the Texas Constitution that only U.S. citizens can vote (already true by law).

Why it matters: It’s meant to make that rule permanent.

Watch-out: Mostly a statement, not a new rule.

2 Prop 2 – Parental Rights

What it means: Parents would have a clear right in the Constitution to make choices about their children’s education, health, and faith.

Why it matters: It strengthens parents’ say in schools and medical issues.

Watch-out: Could cause fights if schools or doctors disagree with parents.

3 Prop 3 – Property-Tax Break for Border Security Projects

Why it matters: Encourages safety projects.

Watch-out: Less local tax money for roads or schools.

Watch-out: Costs millions each year from the state bud

6 Prop 6 – School Safety Fund

What it means: Sets up a special fund to make schools safer—cameras, doors, and security officers.

Why it matters: Tries to keep kids and teachers safe.

Watch-out: Money must be divided fairly between big and small districts.

7 Prop 7 – Property-Tax Cap

What it means: Puts a limit on how fast property taxes can rise.

Why it matters: Helps homeowners plan for bills.

Watch-out: Could make it harder for cities to pay for parks or police.

8 Prop 8 – Teacher Pay & Retiree Bonus

What it means: Adds extra funding to pay teachers more and help retired teachers with bonuses.

Why it matters: Shows support for education workers.

Watch-out: Needs state money every year to keep promises.

9 Prop 9 – Small Business Equipment Tax Break

What it means: Lets small businesses avoid taxes on certain tools or machines.

Watch-out: Local governments lose some revenue.

10 Prop 10 – Road & Bridge Repair Fund

What it means: Sets up steady money to fix roads and bridges, especially in rural Texas.

Why it matters: Improves safety and jobs.

Watch-out: Must be checked so funds aren’t misused.

11 Prop 11 – Disaster Recovery Fund

What it means: Saves state money for floods, fires, and hurricanes.

Why it matters: Helps people rebuild faster after disasters.

Watch-out: Needs strong rules so help reaches those who need it most.

12 Prop 12 – Bail for Dangerous Crimes

What it means: Judges could deny bail to people charged with certain violent or sexual crimes.

Why it matters: Meant to protect communities.

Watch-out: Must still protect innocent-until-proven-guilty rights.

13 Prop 13 – Judicial Discipline Changes

What it means: Updates how Texas can punish or remove bad judges.

Why it matters: Keeps courts fair and accountable.

Watch-out: Needs clear standards so it isn’t political.

14 Prop 14 – University Research Fund

Why it matters: Could bring more jobs and inventions to Texas.

Watch-out: Most help goes to large universities first.

15 Prop 15 – Protecting Homestead for Spouses

What it means: If one spouse dies, the other keeps full rights to the house.

Why it matters: Protects widows and widowers.

Watch-out: None serious — this adds legal clarity.

16 Prop 16 – County Office Reorganization

What it means: Lets certain counties vote to combine or remove some elected offices to save money.

Why it matters: Gives locals control of structure and costs.

Watch-out: Needs transparency so services don’t drop.

17 Prop 17 – Amendment Approval Rule

What it means: Future constitutional amendments would need not just a statewide majority but support in most Texas counties.

Why it matters: Gives rural counties more voice.

Watch-out: Could make it harder to pass changes that mostly help cities.

Mainly helps businesses or higher-income groups: Tax caps (7), business breaks (9), university fund (14).
