The beauty of using aquaponics in the Sahel of Africa is that the method uses far less water than traditional farming.
How much less?? (take a guess…)

80% less water! 😱
In a mostly desert region, this is life changing for farming.
✨ Added bonus: aquaponics means we aren’t reliant on the rainy season for crops, which is only a few months of the year. Instead, we can provide food for Africans year-round. 😋
We’re on a mission to make this available in the 11 countries we’re involved in, our first overseas build being in Senegal. These systems will be operated and managed by locals we have decided are our most teachable and agribusiness-savvy leaders; they are excited to make this available to their people and nation!

Camel: it’s what’s for dinner. 🐪
Rice and wheat are staples in the countries we’re in, and with agriculture being the most popular occupation, so are veggies like okra, millet, onion, and maize. In this season of high food insecurity around the world, these foods are important to keep going in our regions!
Then when you feel a little fancy, you might have some camel meat. Camels are numerous and everywhere, kind of like cattle in the USA, making their meat an ideal option for protein and an excellent income stream for livestock owners.
