Woe and Sorrow fill the Temple....

It is our sad duty to report the passing of our most senior member, a dedicated 52 year member of the Fraternity, Worshipful Brother Gerald "Jerry" L. McClellan.

His dedication to the Craft was well known, he was the last brother to receive his degrees in our original location on main street in Silex at the former Silex Savings Bank Building, and as such was the only member on our rolls to have attended lodge in all three of our locations. Further he was our Senior Past Master. We were honored to count him on the rolls of Silex Lodge.

Brother McClellan passed to the Celestial Lodge Sunday August 10th.

Arrangments are under the direction of McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home. Private Services will be held, there has been no request for a Masonic Service.

Bro. McClellan was initiated an Entered Apprentice on November 17, 1972, Passed to the Degree of Fellowcraft on June 8, 1973, and raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on July 21, 1973. Bro. McClellan served as Master of the Lodge several times, and had in recent times been serving as Tyler until ill health slowed his attendance

Bro. McClellan was also a member of the Valley of St. Louis, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, having been made a 32nd Degree mason in 1983. He later served as President of the Northeast Missouri Scottish Rite Club.

Sadness fills the Craft of Silex Lodge, and we share our deep condolences with the McClellan Family. Sad tidings indeed, but we gladly cherish our time with Bro. Jerry and look fondly on our time with him.

Gerald Louis Jerry McClellan, passed away peacefully on Sunday Aug. 10 at Elsberry Healthcare Center. He was born on May 10, 1936, in St. Louis, MO, the son of Hugh Brooks and Helen Roth McClellan. Jerry went to Silex school and then to work for Kac Hinds Service Station for
