UPDATE: This event has been rescheduled to Friday, November 13.

Come show us what you can create with First Foods!

Healthy Traditions is excited to announce a First Foods Cook-off that will be held on Friday, Sep. 4.

The competition is open to any federally recognized tribal member. Each cook's entry must incorporate at least one First Food, whether that's wild game, shellfish, nuts, berries, roots, greens, or any other ingredients traditional to your community. Feature one or fold in a few—get creative!

Everyone else is invited to come gather, learn, and taste some great food.

Harvest huckleberries and bear grass with Healthy Traditions in the foothills of the Cascades! This event is open to Siletz Tribal Members and will be on August 15.

Folks should prepare for hot weather and bugs and be sure to bring snacks and water.

Looking for a meaningful, hands‑on gift for Mom this Mother’s Day? Join us for Seed Planting for Mother’s Day, at the Community Garden next to the Rec Center!

Plant flowers in honor of a mom, grandma, or special loved one and give a gift that keeps growing. It’s a simple, thoughtful way to celebrate the people who help us grow every day.

Plus, we’ll have seeds, pots, and plants available to take home, perfect for gifting or starting your own garden.

All community members are welcome. Stop by and celebrate Mother’s Day with us!
