Big news for Chatham County, North Carolina small businesses. Thanks to a grant from the Duke Energy Foundation, the Chatham Chamber is awarding 10 microgrants of $2,500 to local businesses ready to invest in their future as our community grows.

ANY small business in Chatham County can apply. Chamber membership is NOT required.

Grants can be used for equipment, technology, renovations, marketing, inventory, and more.

Applications Due: October 31, 2026

Our community is full of people with amazing talents, interests, and stories that we may not know about until we take the time to ask. It’s a reminder that there’s often so much more to a person than what we see in our everyday interactions.

This year, SCDO set out to capture some of those stories through our “Voices of Siler City” storytelling campaign.

We’ve talked with residents, business owners, community leaders, and people who help make Siler City what it is.

Now, we’re bringing those stories together in a new exhibit at the Welcome Center.

🎉 IT’S OFFICIAL — SCDO’s 18-Month Work Plan has been approved!

After months of planning, conversations, community input, and volunteer work, we now have an approved roadmap for the next 18 months of downtown revitalization.

Our work is organized around the four Main Street points:

🏢 Organization
🎉 Promotion
🏘️ Design
💼 Economic Vitality

Our committees have already started meeting and are beginning to turn the goals in the work plan into real projects, tasks, and timelines.

But here’s the important part: the work isn’t just for the people already sitting around the table.

If you live, work, own a business or property downtown, or simply care about the future of Downtown Siler City, there’s a place for you. You can get involved through a committee, help with a project, share your ideas, or lend your time and talents when you can.
