Christian Accountability

“So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭14‬:‭12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Christian Accountability
relationships that know one another fully and point each other to Christ by mutually loving one another as sufferers, sinners, and saints

Not every friend will know (or should know) everything about you. Not every friend has the freedom to ask hard questions and check your heart. It’s true that every friendship in your church should encourage, comfort, and speak truth into your life (1 Thess. 5:14), but each of us also needs certain friends who know everything about us—people we trust will love us enough to understand our hearts, bear our burdens, warn us of the dangers of our sin, and compassionately walk with us toward Christ.

-“And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone.”
‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Steps to Accountability
* Decide to invite someone to be a mat carrier
* This shows humility, to understand you can’t do this life alone. And in order to be your best self you must have other members of the body of Christ to hold you to the flame.
* “Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.”
* ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭12‬ ‭NIV‬‬
* Pick your mat carrier
* Must have spiritual maturity, gentleness, honesty, and awareness of temptations
* Seek wise council don’t guess at who you surround yourself with
* “Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.”
* ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭13‬:‭20‬ ‭NIV‬‬
* Share your Mat- OPEN UP
* In the story of the Lame Jesus heals him and tells him “pick up your mat and go” our mat is our story.
* Sharing your story, of who you are and what molded you and brought you to Christ is a powerful way to disciple.
* Own it, sin happens, it’s how we live after that defines us!
* Take Action
* CHANGE- take the advise, listen to the blind spots and ADJUST
* STOP WALKING THROUGH LIFE THINKING ONE MORE DAY IS OK BECAUSE IT MAY NOT BE

Actions:
1. Reach out to men who fit that mold in your life
2. Join a Bible study
3. Get involved in your church or join a church
4. Go where men of faith are at!

Thanks to Greenspan and everyone able to make it out to the awesome kick off event in Dexter this past Saturday.

Psalm 27:14 reminds us to "Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!" Encourages us to trust that God's timing is always right. He knows the perfect moment to act in our lives, often teaching us patience and strengthening our character in the process.

This past Saturday, August 22nd, we had our kickoff for the start of our new region - F3 Bootheel. 46 men showed up.

46 MEN.

46 men pushing each other to get stronger, lead better, and become better husbands, fathers, friends, and members of their communities. We show up to support each other, to hold each other accountable, to let each other know that no one is in this fight alone.

What started with a few men willing to show up has continued to grow — new faces, new friendships, and a stronger brotherhood every week.

46 men at 6AM on a Saturday morning is incredible. But we’re just getting started.

The Bootheel is growing. The brotherhood is growing. And there’s always room for one more man.

CIRCLE OF TRUST:

We are called to carry each other’s burdens and sometimes we are even called to carry each other. However, we are all called at all times to carry the burden of reaching the lost and unbelieving.

How heart breaking would it be to get to heaven and not see your loved ones?

We have been given a blessing of time of this planet with people we love and care about. Why would we want our loved ones to spend eternity apart from God because of an uncomfortable conversation? Imagine getting to heaven and talking with the first Apostles and missionaries like Paul and they ask why we didn’t share the gospel? They were filleted alive, stoned, boiled alive, crucified upside down, yet they still BOLDY proclaimed the gospel. Imagine they look at us and say “Wow. What were they doing to you in your day that was so bad you couldn’t talk about Jesus?!?” And then our response be, “They looked at me funny.” Or “They thought I was weird and it made them uncomfortable.”

You know what is uncomfortable? Eternity apart from Jesus! So why would we let a little discomfort discourage our witness? So I encourage you all to speak boldly about your faith! Don’t let a little discomfort or awkwardness keep people from the glory and love of Jesus!

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Circle of Trust: PRIORITIES & PRESENCE

PRIORITIES

We all get the same 24 hours a day.
● 8 hours sleeping
● 8 hours working
● 8 hours left
That leaves roughly 8 hours of “free” time every day. What are we doing with it?

Those 8 hours disappear quickly—phones, social media, TV, chores, hobbies, working late, and everything else competing for our attention. Then we say our priorities are our faith, family, health, and relationships. But here’s the question: Does the way we spend our time actually match the priorities we say we have?

We don’t have to give everything equal time, but we need to be intentional about what gets our best time.

PRESENCE

As men, it’s easy to believe that providing for our families is enough. We work hard, pay the bills, put food on the table, and make sure our kids have what they need. Providing matters—but providing and being present aren’t the same thing.

Your family probably isn’t going to remember most of the things you bought them. They’re going to remember whether you showed up, listened to them, played with them, knew what was happening in their lives, and made them feel like they mattered.

You can be sitting right beside your family while your mind is somewhere completely different. Being home isn’t the same as being present.

THE CHALLENGE

Take an honest look at your 8 hours. Where are they going? And when you’re spending time with the people you say are most important to you, ask yourself: Am I actually there, or am I just in the room?

Our families need us to provide, but they also need us.

Know your priorities. Protect your time. Put the phone down. Be where your feet are.
