We LOVE sharing the good news about how lives are changing at Mission Missouri and we had the opportunity to do that today with Jeff Kahrs, the Regional Director of the United States Department of Health and Human Services. We are thankful for his visit and the interest of the department in faith-based providers.💜🙌🏻🇺🇸

TODAY WE CELEBRATE KAYLA! 🎓

Today, Kayla graduates from Mission Missouri Esther House, and we could not be more proud of her!

Now, we’re not going to pretend this journey was easy, because Kayla was a tough one when she first walked through our doors! She came in carrying so much anger, hurt, shame, guilt, and blame. But underneath all of that was a woman who had been deeply wounded and desperately needed healing.

And let me tell you, healing is not always pretty, and growth is not always comfortable!

Kayla had to face some hard truths, take a long look in the mirror, and learn that while she couldn’t change everything that had happened to her, she could take responsibility for the choices she made moving forward.

And she DID! It didn’t happen overnight. There were struggles, tears, hard conversations, and growing pains. But somewhere along the way, we began to see a shift. Blame started turning into accountability, anger started giving way to healing, and shame started losing its grip!

But here’s something that makes this story even more beautiful. Before Kayla ever walked through the doors of Mission Missouri, her mother had been praying for her for FIVE YEARS! Five years of crying out to God, believing for something she couldn’t yet see, and trusting Him with her daughter.

And today, we are witnessing THE FRUIT OF THOSE PRAYERS!

Sometimes we pray and pray, and it feels like nothing is changing. We don’t see the breakthrough, we don’t see the healing, and we wonder if God is even moving. But just because we don’t see Him working doesn’t mean He isn’t! God’s timing is not our timing, and what a beautiful reminder that prayers planted in faith can produce a harvest years later!

Today, Kayla has experienced restoration with her mother, and I believe this is only the beginning of what God has in store for this family!

Kayla, our prayer is that you continue walking with the Lord, stay connected to the community He has placed around you, and never forget how far He has brought you.

If you stay on this path, surrender your will to His, and truly believe what God can do in your life, HE WILL BLOW YOUR MIND!

And to every mother who is still praying for her child, DON’T STOP PRAYING! Your prayers are not wasted, and your story isn’t over!

Congratulations, Kayla! Your next chapter is just beginning!

đź’ś Domestic violence is so much more than what meets the eye.

Working in recovery, I’ve seen firsthand how many women have experienced some form of domestic violence. And one thing I wish more people understood is that abuse doesn’t always leave bruises. Sometimes it’s the words, the manipulation, the control, the fear, and the way someone makes you feel about yourself.

No one deserves to be mistreated, belittled, controlled, or made to feel worthless.

If this speaks to you, please know that you are worthy, you are loved, you are valuable, and you are NOT alone. There is hope, there is healing, and there is help. Don’t be afraid to reach out. 💜

Love should never make you feel unsafe.

Our friends at Mission Missouri wore their purple to support survivors of domestic violence today! đź’śđź’śđź’ś
