Son Servants

Son Servants is a short-term mission ministry dedicated to serving God’s people in need while sharing the love of Christ with them.

to love is to serve. Beginning in 1982, Son Servants was an outgrowth of the Fun in the Son Youth Conference. In the early years, there was only one trip each summer, and the original location was in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico near Merida, where we continue to serve today. The one trip per summer was in place until 1991 when Danny Dotson became the Director of Son Servants. Since t

hen, in addition to high school trips, Son Servants has added middle school trips, combo trips, and custom trips and has worked in 9 international locations and more than 30 locations within the United States, always partnering with local organizations to serve those in need. In 2021, Son Servants separated from the parent organization (YCM) and is now a stand-alone mission ministry that continues to provide short-term mission opportunities in multiple locations. Under the ongoing direction of Danny Dotson, the organization has established a new office location, registered as a ministry in the State of TN, and has applied to be an official nonprofit, 501c3 organization with the IRS. While that lengthy process is taking place, Son Servants is under the umbrella of The Generosity Trust’s Alpha Fund, where we can receive tax-deductible donations.

There are many behind-the-scene (and even on-the-scene) tasks that must be accomplished for us to go out and serve each day. Not all of these tasks are glamorous, but each is rewarding in challenging and fruitful ways!

We are looking for college-aged* students to serve with us on week-long trips—whether that’s one trip this summer, or more. Housing, meals, and on-site transportation will be provided; you just have to get yourself to the location of the camp.

*One year post high school for all High School and Middle school trips. However rising seniors may apply for Middle School only trips.
