Morning all.

This morning is our Make-a-Blanket Morning at the Salvation Army Community Center (180 E. Wilcox Dr., Sierra Vista, AZ) from 9-noon.

There's a lot going on in town, so we hope you're able to drop by and help make no-sew fleece blankets for children in need.

💙 THANK YOU, SIERRA VISTA! 💙

The Sierra Vista Lions Club and our local Project Linus coordinators are overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible kindness and generosity of our community! 🦁❤️

Our August 8, 2026 Make-a-Blanket Morning was a wonderful success, thanks to 55 amazing adult volunteers and 11 youth volunteers who came together to make blankets and share their time and talents.

Because of YOU, we created an incredible collection of comfort and hope:
🧶 51 fleece blankets with tied fringe edges
🧶 13 fleece blankets with crocheted edges
🧵 3 handcrafted quilts made with colorful quilt squares
🧶 17 crocheted afghans
🌈 124 colorful quilt squares — enough to make 10 more quilts!

And the generosity continues! Additional donations of fabric and yarn will help create even more blankets in the future.

These heartfelt gifts will be delivered through Project Linus to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or simply in need of a little extra comfort. 💙

🦁❤️ Make-A-Blanket Morning – Join the Sierra Vista Lions Club! ❤️🦁

Looking for a meaningful way to spend your Saturday morning? Come help us create blankets that will wrap children in comfort, warmth, and hope.

🕘 9:00 A.M. – Noon
📍 Salvation Army Community Center
180 E. Wilcox Dr., Sierra Vista

The Sierra Vista Lions Club, in partnership with Project Linus and the Salvation Army, invites you to join us in creating handmade blankets for children experiencing trauma, illness, or other difficult circumstances.

No experience needed! We'll be:

🧵 Making no-sew tied fleece blankets
🧶 Crocheting edges on pre-cut fleece blankets
🎨 Coloring custom quilt blocks for unique quilts

Every blanket created will be distributed by Project Linus to children in hospitals, shelters, and social service agencies—providing comfort when it's needed most.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 This is a FREE, family-friendly event, and everyone is welcome! Bring your friends, family, neighbors, or coworkers and help us make a lasting difference in a child's life.

🥤 Light refreshments will be available while supplies last.

❤️ Together, we can turn simple acts of kindness into lasting comfort.
