The Huachucans of Sierra Vista The Huachucans, helping kids since 1985, have raised and donated over 1.8 million dollars to organizations in kids Cochise County.

The Huachucans 2026 Sierra Vista Open is May 15-17 at the Sierra Vista Golf Center. Non profit organization focused on raising money via golf tournament, charity auction dinner and raffles for the youth of Sierra Vista and Cochise County Arizona. The Huachucans is an organization dedicated to Helping Kids Since 1985 and over the past 26 years has raised and donated over $1,350,000 to youth organiz

ations and activities throughout Cochise County. Through the Sierra Vista Open, our Charity Auction Dinner, and Raffles, we have provided financial help to these and other youth organizations: The Boys and Girls Clubs of Sierra Vista and Bisbee; Boy Scouts; Buena High School, Band, ROTC and Project Graduation; Sierra Vista Public Schools and Library; Miss Sierra Vista Scholarship Foundation; Sierra Vista Youth Football & Cheer; Sierra Vista Girls Fast Pitch Softball teams; Little League Baseball in Sierra Vista, Bisbee and Huachuca City; Cochise County Youth Orchestra; and Horse therapeutic and riding activities including the Sierra Vista Riding Club, Cochise College Rodeo, CANTER, Hero Hearts, and Care for the Horses.

Every year for the Sierra Vista Open Charity Dinner, Vinny’s Pizza and The Herald Review support a silent auction item that we put together and call “Date Night”. It consist of six pizzas from Vinnys, and the Herald donates movie tickets or gift cards to Cinemark.

This year in the hustle and bustle of everything, I dropped the ball and didn’t pick up these items.

Every year Bryan Grimm bids this auction item up and as far as I remember, wins it!

Imagine my shock, when Bryan comes up to me at the dinner and says “hey why is there no Vinnys pizza and movie tickets from the Herald”? I knew Vinnys and The Herald were good for it, so I told him I would get it to him after the fact and he would pay what he paid last year.

Thank you to Chip, Megan and the team at Vinny’s pizza, Jennifer Sorensen and her team, especially Branden at The Herald and Bryan Grimm for supporting The Huachucans and the youth of our community!

Great things happen when great people come together to support the youth in our community!

Last year, during the live auction for “A day with Sheriff Dannels”, we broke the record and raised $9000.

This year, we knocked down the place where records are stored, went to the place for records are made, and kicked in the front door! $23,000!!!
