On 6 Oct 26, club members joined forces with Buena HS Interact students to man an information booth at this year's National Night Out. Mayoral Candidate Mark Rodriguez stopped by for a quick meet and greet. The goal of the National Night Out event is to bring the community and first responders together for a fun evening while strengthening the relationships that help make Sierra Vista a great place to call home. The Sunrise Club setup a couple information boards highlighting our involvement with Project Graduation and the Rising Sun Run, along with palm cards and flyers. The Buena students also engaged other students on their shared Interact experiences, focusing on community service. The Hagerl's brought their axe/star throwing game, which provided for a non-stop line of kids throughout the evening. We also had a generous supply of candy available for the kids, as well as some parents.

On 5 Oct 26, Assistant Governor Kay Phillips gave an excellent presentation on our Rising Sun Run event to members of the noon Rotary Club. She covered the history of the event, run routes, the basic who, what, when, where, why, and how of the event. She provided detailed numbers of runners as well as the financial status of running the event. Kay finished up with opportunities for their club members to help, donate, or sponsor the event. There was a good question and answer session that followed.

On 3 Oct 26, club members joined with students from Buena High School's Interact Club, and some individual Buena HS student volunteers. We manned a rest stop for the Sky Island Bike Tour, which was located at the half way point for the 20 mile ride. Our stop included water, gatorade, apple and pickle juices, fruits, cookies, power bars, and Gu energy gel packets. The students did an amazing job setting up the stop and decorating it with this year's theme of pickle ball. They also designed and produced signage which they used to verbally encourage the riders along the course.

On 30 Sep 26, Doc's Watering Hole hosted a monthly social for club members. Not only did Tori prepare an amazing buffet, but also won the bingo game. Everyone had a wonderful time.

On 23 Sep 26, we opened our meeting with President Bill Hagerl awarding certificates of achievement to our CTE (Career and Technical Education) students of the month - Ethan Myers and Emily Sanders. Both have excelled in the field of Automotive Collison and Repair. Following the presentation, Past President Kay Phillips, this year's Rising Sun Run Race Director, walked club members through a comprehensive breakdown on the current status of this year's event, along with a timeline of events yet to be accomplished.

On 17 Sep 26, our own award winning and nationally acclaimed Culinary Crusaders from the SV Sunrise Rotary - Joe, Bill, Elmo, John, Mr. J and Bill - prepared and served another gourmet lunch masterpiece of chili, cornbread, coleslaw, and a variety of desserts at the SV Salvation Army.

On 16 Sep 26, we welcomed Melanie Duncan, Ramsey Canyon Preserve Steward who provide an excellent overview of the preserve along with a detailed description of her duties. Monica presented Melanie with our Recognition of Service certificate. We were also joined this morning by Rotarians from Romania, in our country on a Friendship Exchange tour. Ms. Cristina Munteanu presented Club President Bill Hagerl with her Slatina Rotary Club's Banner.

On 9 Sep 26, we welcomed Gail Farmer, President of the CANTERsvaz. Gail provided members with an informative presentation on the program, it's goals and future objectives. CANTER (Cochise Area Network of Therapeutic Equestrian Resources) - is a local therapeutic equestrian riding center that offers lessons to individuals with a variety of disabilities. Therapies include a combination of mounted and unmounted lessons. Katy presented Gail with our Recognition of Service certificate. On 5 Sep 26, club member Jenn Wantz managed a roadside clean-up service project with student volunteers from the Buena HS Interact club and Cochise College. The roadside clean-up took place on 7th street between Wilcox Drive and Busby.
