Destination-Mars: Eroded Crater
This highly eroded meteorite crater once held a lake in the distant past. The rim deposits have been completely eroded away. Along the inner edge of the crater there are multiple light-colored layers of lake deposits. The low-lying center of the crater is now filled with fine-grained dark material that forms dunes. -Roger Weller.

Destination-Mars: Dust Devils and Dunes
What am I looking at? This is an inclined view of dusty linear dunes that were marred by the passage of dozens of dust devils. The dust devil trails exposed the darker material beneath the dust. These dunes are located on the floor of Russell Crater (diameter 78 miles). The view is approximately 2000 feet across. -Roger Weller
