Cochise Family Advocacy Center - Lori's Place

Cochise Family Advocacy Center - Lori's Place To Rise From Victim to Survivor Services include a coordinated interview of child abuse victims in safe, child-friendly surroundings.

This process avoids the need for multiple interviews, reduces the trauma of disclosure, and preserves evidence and statements to enhance offender prosecution and conviction. Cochise Family Advocacy Center, Inc. provides crisis intervention and support for victims and non-offending family members, information regarding next steps, referrals to and information about different agencies involved and how they may affect the family, access to higher levels of care, and regular multidisciplinary reviews of cases to assure that services provided align with best practices. This beginning achieves our mission to compassionately support and promote the well-being of children and adults through comprehensive services in a neutral, friendly environment. Our service area covers Cochise County, Graham County, and Greenlee County.

This week, we are honoring our founder, Lori!

Lori is the heart behind Lori’s Place and has been a guiding light for survivors for decades. We honor not only her incredible milestone, but the legacy she continues to build every single day.

Lori’s pioneering work as Cochise County’s first certified forensic nurse examiner and sexual assault nurse examiner set the foundation for compassionate, trauma‑informed care in our community. Her dedication to training and mentoring SANE nurses has shaped the future of this vital work, ensuring survivors receive care rooted in dignity, respect, and hope.

In 2016, Lori and her husband, Mike, opened the doors of Lori’s Place with a simple but powerful vision: to create a safe, welcoming space where victims could become survivors. That vision lives on in every exam, every act of support, and every life touched within these walls.

Even today, Lori continues to serve with the same gentle strength and unwavering compassion that inspired the creation of this center. Her impact is felt in the nurses she has mentored, the survivors she has supported, and the community she continues to uplift.

Please join us in celebrating Lori - our founder, our mentor, and a true embodiment of care and compassion.

Thank you, Lori, for a lifetime of service and a legacy that continues to change lives!
