Alpha Community Center The Alpha Community Center is a non-profit organization serving the Sidney and Shelby County area. Both programs are free to participants.

The Alpha Community Center has been serving Sidney-Shelby County through four main programs since 1984:

Served Meal Program - Where a hot meal is available Monday through Saturday, at no cost. Emergency Pantry Program - Offering non-perishable food items, diapers, wipes, formula, personal care items, blankets, gloves and much more, at no cost. After School Program - Serving children ages 6-17, of

fering a hot meal weekly and tutoring, as well as our summer camp program which runs Monday through Friday, mid-June through mid-July. Emergency Rent and Utility Assistance - The Alpha Community Center is funded through the United Way of Shelby County to offer rent and utility assistance to families in need.

Alpha Community Center Needs Your Help 💙

We are currently in need of the following items to continue serving our community. Any donation—big or small—makes a difference and is greatly appreciated!

Current Needs:
Coffee, sugar, creamer, trash bags (large & small), toilet paper, paper towels, bathroom cleaners, air fresheners, foam plates (3-compartment) / pie plates, foam bowls, foam coffee cups, 3-compartment hinged to-go containers, anti-bacterial hand soap, gravy mixes (beef/mushroom), shredded cheese, butter, serving gloves (all sizes), foil, Ziploc bags (all sizes), plastic spoons & forks, napkins, foil pans (big/small), Palmolive or Dawn dish soap, laundry soap, and towels & wash cloths.

The Alpha Community Center is excited to share that today, your generosity can go even further. Every tax-deductible donation made to our Building Fund through the Community Foundation will be matched, helping us continue to grow and serve the families of Shelby County.

The holiday season is a time for kindness, connection, and giving from the heart. Each year, our community comes together to share the true spirit of Christmas by filling food boxes with love and essentials for our neighbors who could use a little extra help.

Our Annual Food Box Giveaway is more than a tradition — it’s a reminder of what makes our community special. Together, we bring comfort, nourishment, and joy to individuals and families facing tough times during the holidays.

As Christmas approaches, we’re inviting community members, local businesses, and organizations to join us in spreading warmth and generosity. You can help by donating non-perishable food items, volunteering your time, or simply sharing this message with others.

Stay out of the kitchen tonight and grab some good grub at Culver's while helping a great cause! The Alpha Community Center is a Shelby County United Way, Inc. organization, and we couldn't do what we do without them! So order some food at Culver's and donate a little or a lot to the United Way! By helping the United Way, your helping us as well!! It's a win/win.
