Spooktacular fun awaits just two weeks from today! 👻🕸️

Sidney Health Center Extended Care and The Lodge will be hosting their annual “Trick-or-Treat” for children up to sixth grade on Friday, October 30. Candy donations are being accepted at both locations, so please consider contributing to this fun event! 🎃 🍬

Trick-or-Treaters are welcome from 2:30 to 3:30 PM. Please use the main entrance at Extended Care located at 104 14th Avenue NW in Sidney. The Lodge is located at 1015 7th Ave SW in Sidney. Come see our residents and staff in their Halloween costumes and show off your own! 🧡

Breast cancer doesn't always announce itself. There isn't always pain. There isn't always an obvious lump. That's why knowing the signs and symptoms is so important. 🩷

Here are some changes to watch for:
🩷 A lump or swelling in the breast, upper chest, or armpit
🩷 Dimpling, puckering, or other changes in breast skin
🩷 Redness, inflammation, or changes in breast color
🩷 A ni**le that becomes pulled inward
🩷 A rash or crusting around the ni**le
🩷 Unusual ni**le discharge
🩷 Changes in the size or shape of the breast

While most breast changes are not cancer, it's important to have any concerns checked by your healthcare provider. And because breast cancer doesn't always cause noticeable symptoms, routine mammograms are essential for early detection, even when you feel healthy.

At Sidney Health Center, we recommend annual mammograms beginning at age 40. Staying on top of your recommended screenings is one of the most important steps you can take for your breast health.

With more than 26 years of experience, Dr. Michael Calfee, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, recently joined the Orthopedic Care team at Sidney Health Center.

Our Orthopedic Care team is growing and already hard at work! 🦴

Since joining Sidney Health Center on October 1, Michael Calfee, MD, has been seeing patients in the Orthopedic Clinic and performing surgeries, helping patients receive the care they need close to home.

With more than 26 years of experience, Dr. Calfee is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist. His expertise includes hip, knee and shoulder replacements, arthroscopic procedures, hand surgery and treatment of orthopedic injuries.

We're also excited to share that Adrianne Bryant, PA-C, has transitioned from the Same-Day Clinic to the Orthopedic Care team! After more than five years of caring for patients at Sidney Health Center, Adrianne brings valuable experience to her new role, where she will work alongside our orthopedic surgeons to provide patient evaluations, fracture care, post-operative care and more.

Together, Dr. Calfee and Adrianne are helping strengthen our orthopedic services and expand access to quality care for patients throughout our region.

What if pain wasn't something you had to push through every single day?

Living with chronic pain can affect everything from your daily routine to the activities you love. At Sidney Health Center, we're here to help you explore options for finding relief.

Our Interventional Pain Management Clinic, led by Dr. Christine Hoglund, DO, offers minimally invasive procedures designed to target sources of pain, reduce discomfort, and help improve your quality of life.

Treatment options include:
• Epidural Steroid Injections
• Joint and Bursa Injections
• Nerve Blocks
• Radiofrequency Ablation
• Trigger Point Injections
• Other specialized pain management procedures

The impact of a great mentor extends far beyond the classroom. 💙

Throughout her career, Jacquelyn “Jacq” Free, APRN, FNP-C, has helped prepare the next generation of healthcare providers by mentoring 19 nurse practitioner and physician assistant students. Today, six of those individuals are part of the Sidney Health Center team!

Jacq, who provides primary care at MonDak Family Clinic in Fairview, is passionate about sharing her knowledge and giving students hands-on experience in rural healthcare.

Among those who have benefited from Jacq’s mentorship and are now part of our team are:
