On January 1, Shriners Hospitals for Children kicks off the 100th anniversary of our health care system by participating in the 133rd Rose Parade presented by Honda. Twelve float riders, including national patient ambassadors Sydney, Seth, Mia and Connor, Imperial Potentate Bill Bailey and First Lady Debby and others, will ride on our float entitled 100 Years of Believing in Dreams. The theme recognizes the power of hopes and dreams, and celebrates our patients’ resilience and determination as they discover how much is possible, begin to believe in their dreams and gain the confidence to achieve their goals.
The parade will be broadcast live in the United States beginning at 8 a.m. PST. Look for our float at position number 76 in the line-up. Check your local listings for details.
We also want to thank all of our volunteer decorators who are working tirelessly to transform our float into a work of art. Our volunteers consist of Shriners and their families, members of our Masonic family organizations and Shriners Hospitals employees. We would like to give special thanks to Illustrious Sir John Howe of Khedive Shriners and Lady Val who have served as our lead volunteers for the last several parades, and to Al Malaikah Shriners and ladies who are helping serve meals to volunteers.
