Spooktacular fun awaits just two weeks from today! 👻🕸️

Sidney Health Center Extended Care and The Lodge will be hosting their annual “Trick-or-Treat” for children up to sixth grade on Friday, October 30. Candy donations are being accepted at both locations, so please consider contributing to this fun event! 🎃 🍬

Trick-or-Treaters are welcome from 2:30 to 3:30 PM. Please use the main entrance at Extended Care located at 104 14th Avenue NW in Sidney. The Lodge is located at 1015 7th Ave SW in Sidney. Come see our residents and staff in their Halloween costumes and show off your own! 🧡

Iona Hansen, 102, is another of The Lodge's centenarians who was honored today at the annual Governor’s Conference on Aging in Kalispell.

Growing up, life was not always easy. Iona remembers that children had to work hard, often without pay, and learned the value of hard work from an early age. Compared with those days, she says life is easier today. Many of the conveniences people enjoy now simply weren't available when she was young, and getting things done often meant a lot of hard work.

Her first date with her husband was a trip to the movies, beginning a relationship that would become one of the greatest blessings of her life. If she could relive one day, it would be her wedding day, a treasured memory and a testament to the happiness her wonderful husband brought her.

Over the years, she has watched the world transform with inventions like television, radio and computers. While she appreciates how much easier many things have become, she never forgets the hard work that shaped her generation. And she has learned that some things never go out of style. Her advice is simple but meaningful: be nice and kind, all the time. It is a lesson she has carried throughout her life and one she hopes others will carry forward.

Montana’s centenarians were honored today at the annual Governor’s Conference on Aging in Kalispell, and The Lodge is proud to be home to Ruth Iversen, who celebrated her 106th birthday last month!

Growing up, life for Ruth was centered around hard work and family. She started working when she was just 12 years old, learning early the value of responsibility and perseverance. Her first date with her husband was a trip to the movies, a simple outing that would become the beginning of a lifetime of love and memories together. In fact, Ruth says if she could relive one day, she wouldn't hesitate to choose her wedding day. It remains a treasured memory and a day she remembers as one in which she felt truly blessed.

When asked about the secret to a long and happy life, Ruth points to her faith, which has been a source of strength and happiness throughout her life. And after more than a century of living, she believes one thing matters most: relationships.

We’re grateful that Ruth is a part of The Lodge community. 💙

This week is National Healthcare Food Service Week and we’re celebrating our dedicated employees on the Sidney Health Center and The Lodge Food Services teams! They’re a key ingredient in helping our organization run smoothly each and every day.

🍽In fiscal year 2026, the Sidney Health Center Food Service team prepared 239,942 nourishing meals with care for patients, staff, residents, and guests.

🥗At The Lodge, the Food Service team provides three delicious meals daily along with snacks and special treats, making mealtimes an important and enjoyable part of each resident’s day.

We are grateful for the compassion and hard work of both teams. Your contributions go far beyond the meals you provide, helping bring comfort, support healing, and create a welcoming environment for patients, residents, and families. Thank you for all you do!

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Jhonatan Alcazar 🌟

This month we’re celebrating “Jhon” as he prepares to begin an exciting new chapter.

After recently completing Army AIT training as an electrician, he is heading to the University of Montana to pursue a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.

We are incredibly proud of his accomplishments and can’t wait to see what the future holds for him.
