Collaboration, connections, and communication, to me these are the three keys to a strong community.
While it is widely known I am a community volunteer right here in Richland County, what isnt as widely known is how I have learned everything that has made me the leader I am today. Over the course of 5 days last week I had to honor and privilege to create new connections and celebrate established connections with young leaders from across our great country, a few from our neighbors to the North, and one from Suriname. The types of leadership vary from your every day person working as a waitress, a cpa, a travel agent, all the way up to CEOs in multiple different industries, counselors, lawyers, and everyone in between.
As a simple gal from the sunrise city of the big sky state I could have never imagined I would have friends not only across this great country but in many others as well. Knowing these amazing young leaders, working beside them in many capacities, and simply getting to say "I don't quite know how that works, but I know someone who might" gives me the drive and tenacity to know I can bring amazing things to Richland County.
