Sorry for the late post, was going to upload a video but couldn’t get it saved to do so and it’s been a busy week and weekend since then! Last week on Saturday we took 7 of the 10 youth anglers out on grand lake Saint Mary’s. It was a fun day but a little tough for all. We switched it up a little and decided to let the boat captains also so fish to encourage, teach and show each and every best way to fish. We’ve seen improvements in all the kids and even seen the kids encourage the other on the boat to try and do such things we were. We got good feedback from all the kids about it and seems like the enjoyed it and liked what they could learn and everything.

Also got our jerseys in, got to get a picture with Matt seiber who is a sponsor/donor for us at freedom outdoors in Saint Mary’s, big thanks to him for the help and taking a picture with everyone that was ther. Make sure you go to him for all your boat needs! Also another shout out to Scoot Mays for his sponsorship/donation as well from mays lost treasures llc out of piqua Ohio. We were able to put their businesses on the jersey to show thanks and to also support them.

Also thanks for the help from the parents as well, helping with food, getting boats in the water and out and a huge thanks to the boat captains from the adult club shelby county bassmasters.

Over the weekend on Saturday these 4 boys had a early morning! Some even stayed up all night just come and experience their first ever state championship! We hit the road around 3:30 to get there by 5 for check in and the meeting to follow by 6. It was a wet one for the first half of the tournament and luckily they all caught at least 1 fish. Not sure what place they got but they were going up against tough teams with some knowing the lake more than others but they still showed up and represented our club! We had 2 of the 35 teams there. And they all had a good time which is the best part of it and experiencing a big tournament such as this one. Thanks to the parents and boat captains that helped or tagged along to experience this with us/them.

Late post but we had a good first tournament at Indian lake! Thank you to the boat captains that helped, parents that contributed for food, a prize for the 1st place winner, and an adult member who drove up separately for the 2:00pm weigh in just to help out and see how things went for everyone’s. All in all it was a tough day for some and a good day for the others. 3 of the 6 kids were able to get fish, one of the had 1 along with the other having 1 as well and the winner had 2 fish with one almost being 3 pounds!! Congrats to the winner and congrats to the kids who could fish and sticking it out when the bite wasn’t really on and hope for the best of luck on the next tournament which will be the 8th graders going to there first state championship to represent our club at alum creek May 13th. Again appreciate all the help and positivity from everyone! Also hers some pictures from Saturdays tournament!

Today is the first tournament for our young anglers, unfortunately not all can fish due to other things they got going on but they’ll have plenty of opportunities to fish, teach and learn! Well have 6 members fishing with 3 boat captains. Good luck to them today while they go to Indian lake!

Just a reminder for friends, family, members and youth members that Thursday nights start this week ran by the adult club! You’ll see some new faces as well with our youth club helping out at weigh ins as well.

Some of the boys went to the state meeting over the weekend on Saturday. But thanks to the two guys who put on the seminar and gave out free stuff to the kids while asking questions. And some got some food stuff from the raffles that went on throughout the day!
We got a couple more months till we start the fishing season and I know they’re excited! More will be posted when it come down to it.
