We had a fantastic day at the Side Lake Winter Festival with over 300 attendees enjoying the outdoors and a variety of activities.

Thank you to Mike Hanson and Due North Haflinger Farm for the sleigh rides, Tom Roach and Bear River Sled Dogs for the dog meet & greet, and Borealis Art Guild artists for sharing your talents!

We couldn’t do these events without the dozens of dedicated community volunteers - thank you! And a special shout out to PJ Bjur and Mike Jerulle for prepping the grounds!

Today is THE DAY!

The Side Lake Winter Festival takes place from 1-4pm at the Side Lake Rec Center!

Parking is available in the lower lot, upper lot, and entrance road. Please use the plowed walking path between activities on top of the hill and below.

Bring your own skates and sleds for classic skating and sledding. and enjoy snowshoeing, milk jug curling, sled dog meet & greet, horse-drawn sleigh rides, igloo dance party, arts & crafts, craft demonstrations, snacks and more.

This event is free to attend and open to the public thanks to generous donations from our sponsors.

Our favorite polar bears will be making appearances throughout the day at the Side Lake Winter Festival - join us TOMORROW, February 7th, from 1-4pm at the Side Lake Rec Center.

The weather is looking perfect to spend time outdoors, but don't forget about the fun inside!

Local Side Lake artisans and volunteers from the Borealis Art Guild will be showcasing all sorts of craft demonstrations at the Side Lake Winter Festival from 1-4pm this Saturday, February 7th, at the Side Lake Rec Center.

Demonstrations and items for sales will be available from: clay building, woodburning, polymer clay, pottery, stained glass, painting, and silversmithing! Watch the artists at work and learn more about their class offerings.

Traditional kids arts & crafts will also be available. Venture outside for skating, sledding, snowshoeing, milk jug curling, sled dog meet & greet, horse-drawn sleigh rides, igloo dance party more!

Fresh popcorn, cookies and snacks along with hot chocolate and coffee will be available all day inside while you warm up.

The Side Lake Winter Festival offers a variety of family-friendly events for all to enjoy. Now in its fourth year, the festival is from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Side Lake Recreation Center. We are officially ONE week out from the Side Lake Winter Festivall taking place next Saturday, February 7th, from 1-4pm at the Side Lake Rec Center!

Our next featured activity is the sled dog meet & greet! You can interact with the pups and learn all about mushing from Tom Roach of Bear River Sled Dogs.
