More highlights from a great past few weeks - spoiler alert: our Partner Agencies are amazing!

WCFB's Seana Weaver and Martha Assefa were glad to be joined by State Senator Ryan Fattman at Webster Dudley Food Share to talk about the realities of hunger right now and the threats to SNAP. Thank you to AJ Alkire and Lisa Tuttle from Webster Dudley Food Share for hosting and for the work they do every day.

WCFB's Mario Portillo joined Catholic Charities Worcester County to celebrate the rededication of their Leominster office. Congratulations to State Rep. Natalie Higgins and Leominster Mayor Dean Mazzarella on their Mission Partner Awards, and thank you to Claire Freda and the Catholic Charities team for welcoming us.

Our Partner Agencies are on the front lines of hunger, and we're so glad to walk alongside them.

The last few weeks have reminded us what community in action looks like.

🌈 Pride Worcester’s Parade and Festival was a vibrant celebration of the LGBTQ+ community, with local organizations, businesses, and neighbors all showing up to take part. Thank you to Pride Worcester for such a joyful and welcoming day.

🫜 Growing Places' Farm-to-Brewery Dinner showcased the importance of small farmers and local food systems. Thank you to Growing Places for connecting people experiencing hunger and healthy, delicious food.

🌟 Promoting Good, LLC's Day of Good celebration honored community members and leaders who exemplify empathy and courage. Grateful to Valerie and Promoting Good for celebrating the good happening across our community and challenging us all to be bold and speak up.

We're so grateful to be a part of these welcoming and generous communities.

📣 Join Boston Food Access Council, Worcester County Food Bank, and Sam Montaño for a community potluck to break bread and share our experiences with SNAP.

📅 This Wednesday, we’re gathering at the People’s House to share a meal with our neighbors and legislators, all while discussing why Massachusetts needs a strong SNAP. If you have stories or feelings to share about how SNAP access has impacted your life, please join us!

📍 Meet at the entrance of 24 Beacon street at 10:30 AM. After sharing songs and stories outside, we’ll then move into the building for lunch in community with our elected officials.

So far in 2026, the Winchendon CAC has received more than 155,000 pounds of food, helping provide nearly 130,000 meals to our neighbors.
