The Shrewsbury Youth Athletic Association (SYAA) is an all-volunteer, non-profit fundraising organization dedicated to improving the sports and athletic experience of the children of Shrewsbury. The SYAA does that by helping to pay for sports equipment and facilities that may be beyond municipal and school budget constraints. In a time of increasingly tighter school and town budgets and “pay-to-pl

ay” athletics, an organization like SYAA is critical to provide our children with opportunities to participate in a wide range of sports, and to ensure they have the quality equipment and facilities they deserve. In the past, SYAA has donated funds to Shrewsbury Boro School for purchase of new uniforms, sponsored celebratory events like Soccer Saturday and Spring Sports Opening Day, hosted Sports Night featuring motivational speakers such as former Giant Carl Banks, donated funds for Shrewsbury children to attend baseball, softball and soccer clinics, provided awards to Scholar-Athletes at 8th Grade Graduation, contributed towards the upgrade of sports equipment, and much more. We are working to meet the needs of the community with the goal of upgrading our facilities and offerings in the years ahead. As a community based organization we also strive to provide support to local parents and children in times of need.

Dear Shrewsbury School and community members,

SYAA is in great need of volunteers, both on our executive board, as well as on the larger committee. Without more involvement, SYAA will be unable to carry on the work of offering fun community events that raise money for both our school and recreational sports programs. Organizations like SYAA are only successful when new members continue to come onboard to bring new energy and new ideas.

Please consider joining SYAA today so we can continue making improvements in our children's sports programs in this great community.
