Worcester County Underwater Search & Recovery

Worcester County Underwater Search & Recovery We accomplish this using the latest underwater technologies, Humminbird Side Imaging Sonar and Deep Trekker underwater ROV's. Our primary areas of work are;

1.

Worcester County Underwater Search & Recovery was started in April 12, 2016 by Mike Kalinowski, with the goal of assisting in the location, identification and recovery of lost lives/drowning victims, underwater artifacts ( from the 1600's to mid 1900's), cars, boats and trash that has been dumped into our fresh water lakes, ponds and streams. Assisting Law Enforcement in the Search and Recovery of

drowning victims.
2. Identification of Early American Historical artifacts.
3. Identification of Toxic wastes and Trash being dumped into our fresh water resources, including chemical barrels, cars/trucks, tires sunken boats and general trash, which pollute our fresh waters and kill off our fish. During this first year of operations we were able to assist in two search and recoveries of drowning victims in Southeast Massachusetts, located 5 cars, of which 1 car was removed and 4 other cars still on the bottom of Lake Quinsigamond, waiting for removal by Worcester Police/Fire Dive Teams. We have also provided underwater search and identification services to the Nipmuc Indians, of central Massachusetts, in an effort to locate and identify early 16th and 17th century Indian artifacts. This is known as Project Mishoon. Additionally, I have identified several other items related to the early 19th century (an old Ice Sled used to cut and remove ice during the winter months), which need to be verified by the Massachusetts Bureau of Underwater Archaeological Resources (MBUAR). This spring I will be working on several projects, including the recovery of a 1962/1964 Chris Craft sport cruiser boat which I located using my Humminbird side imaging sonar and Deep Trekker underwater ROV. This will be accomplished with a scuba drive team to float and recover the boat.
