Shrewsbury Oil Assistance Relief (SOAR)

Shrewsbury Oil Assistance Relief (SOAR) c/o SYFS
240 Maple Avenue
Shrewsbury, MA 01545 Unlike Gas or Electric Heat, oil customers who are in arrears in their account can be shut off during the winter.

Shrewsbury Oil Assistance Relief (SOAR) was founded to provide emergency oil deliveries to Shrewsbury Residents who have run out of oil and need help until more perminant assistance can be provided. We provide a 75 Gallon emergency oil delivery while our friends at Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services (SYFS) or the South Middlesex Opportunity Council (SMOC) secure perminant aid or subsidies. When

people lose heat it leads to burst pipes and mold, illness and relocation to often family unfriendly locations. We exist solely to provide temporary emergency aid to allow people to stay in their homes, while their situation is addressed. To dat we have helped over 100 families in Shrewsbury.

We know that on a day like this the last thing you want to think about is Home Heating Oil.

You don't have to.

Due to the past generosity of our friends SOAR has enough money in our coffers to handle this years needs. We hope that you will instead donate generously to Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services, our parent charity. Thank you

Dear Friends,
We at SOAR know that the last thing you want to think about on a beautiful warm summer day is heating oil. SO, YOU DON'T HAVE TO!
We are pleased to announce that SOAR has enough money to last us through the coming winter. Your generous support has made this possible. We are grateful for your generosity to our cause of helping people weather heating emergencies. We hope that instead of giving to SOAR, you will generously donate to our parent charity Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services.

Here's something you don't read from a charity every day...

SOAR does not need your money. Due to the relatively mild winter and the decline in oil prices, we have weathered the winter of 2015/2016 very well. Our funds should last well into next year. Thank you to all of our friends at Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services for their continued operation of our program, and thank you to all who have generously supported us.

Here at SOAR we are grateful for all who have given generously so that we may send oil and provide warmth to those who find themselves with no other alternative. Bless you all and have a safe fun Holiday with your loved ones.

Now we're off to fry a turkey!

Here's something you never hear from a charity...

Due to the remarkable success of last year's Spirit of Shrewsbury fund raiser, we do not need your money at least for this year. Please consider taking that generous donation that you were going to send and instead give it to our parent charity Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services, SYFS.

Thank you Hannah Kane, Beth Casavant and Matthew Beaton for your great work for SOAR.
