It was a HUGE day for maternal health in the Massachusetts House! Thank you to Marjorie Decker Brandy Fluker Oakley State Representative 12th Suffolk District Kay Khan Christopher Worrell Carole Fiola Speaker Mariano Bay State Birth Coalition Neighborhood Birth Center and so many others for groundbreaking accomplishments on midwifery care, birth justice, Perinatal Mental Health Screening, and more -- work DECADES in the making.

MOMS MATTER ACT UPDATE:
One more piece of the puzzle is increased community and behavioral health resources for new parents facing mental health challenges, which would be accomplished by the Moms Matter Act. Unfortunately, this piece was NOT included in the House bill – but we will keep fighting!

Thank you for tremendous advocacy by Mind the Gap coalition members, Steering Committee, endorsing organizations, sponsors, and other champions that got our bill on the agenda!

Congratulations and on to the Senate!
