19 Days until Art in Prospect Park!
Artist Profile: Chris Anderson
Chris is new to AiPP this year, with art that is truly straight from nature. She has been pounding flora for over 10 years, creating images directly from plant-derived pigments. She remarked "I quickly discovered that colors observed are not always what the natural pigments behold. For example, a pink flower may be purple after pounding. You may have never done any art and might find this art form is a great way to alleviate stress! I offer “Pounding Flora Parties” as it is my hope that seeing some of my creations will inspire you to appreciate the color rainbow of natural pigments."

Blake Jarvi is a Shrewsbury resident and has worked in Shrewsbury schools for the past 13 years. During that time she has made it her mission to spread joy to the students. Now she is spreading joy to adults with a spoonful of silliness. Her spoons and cutting boards are whimsical and are guaranteed to make you smile when you walk into your kitchen.

Twenty-three years ago, Shrewsbury’s Garden of Sweet Remembrance was a memory itself. Maybe less than a memory – a wreck. Once part of a sprawling estate, the garden was an afterthought, a remnant from a bygone era.

05/09/2026

Garden Work Day has been rescheduled to 5/16 due to the persistent rains today. See you next Saturday from 9am-12pm.
