Friends of Prospect Park, Shrewsbury, MA Our current endeavor is to restore the beautiful estate gardens that once existed.

Friends of Prospect Park is a not-for-profit organization composed of citizens interested in establishing and maintaining a passive recreation and garden area in Prospect Park. This page is designed to inform others about the park and to facilitate communication regarding park events, work days, donations, and park needs during rehabilitation with President, Bill Davis, Treasurer, Chris Kirk and Master Gardener, Brenda Goodwill. Prospect Park is located between Prospect Street and Boylston Street (Route 140) in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts

It is with much regret that we are cancelling tomorrow's Art in Prospect Park due to the impending storm. We hope that you will join us next year on SATURDAY Sept 11, 2027.....our rain date will be the next day, Sunday Sept 12th. Thank you to all of our volunteers for spreading the word and helping to make the Garden ready to host our biggest event to date. We will be back next year, bigger and better!

Our final Young Artists for Art in Prospect Park are MUSICIANS! We are very excited to showcase these talented Shrewsbury students, while giving the public a glimpse into a future use of the Garden. Once the new Pergola is built, we hope to host small summer concerts.

Artist Profiles: Valve and Slide Soundworks, Eamonn O'Brien
Performance times below.

Valve and Slide Soundworks consists of 9th graders Oliver Kosheff on trumpet, Ethan Bissonnette on Horn, and Ridhaan Gottam on trombone. They formed the brass trio this summer, and their first charity concert was performed at Cafe Nine in Westborough in August. Since then, they have been busy arranging and rehearsing music for their next concert, which will be held at Cafe Nine later this year. Beyond school ensembles, Oliver is a member of the Worcester Youth Wind Ensemble, Ridhaan is a member of the Worcester Youth Symphony Orchestra, and Ethan has performed with CDMMEA Junior District ensembles.
PERFORMING AT 11:45am.

Eamonn O'Brien is 12 years old and plays the bagpipes for the Worcester Keltie Pipes and Drums band. He started learning on the chanter 5 years ago and recently started playing in regional bagpipe competitions. He enjoys playing in the community, especially during St. Patrick's Day in the Worcester parade.

Young Artist Profiles: Riana Sukhija and Anvi Jain

For Riana, art means 'expressing your creativity and imagination from within'. As a talented and imaginative 7th-grade artist, she loves bringing her ideas to life through many different forms of creative expression. From designing colorful press-on nails and crafting cozy knotted blankets to creating delicate pipe flowers, handmade bead bracelets, and vibrant canvas paintings, Riana is always exploring new ways to create. Riana's artwork has been showcased at the Worcester Art Museum and at the School Board, highlighting her creativity and dedication to her craft. She also turned her passion into entrepreneurship when she hosted a pop-up shop at the ISW Art Festival.

"Meet 'Artastic by Anvi', a Shrewsbury 5th grader who has held a paintbrush from a very young age! Her artistic journey was inspired by her creative mom, and she began her learning path in sketching and painting when she was just five years old. Anvi loves to explore various artistic avenues and has tried many different mediums, including watercolor, oil pastels, and colorful beads. Lately, she has been diving into the intricate world of dot mandala and experimenting with decoupage on vases and canvas. Anvi’s work is a vibrant reflection of her kind heart and her name—meaning 'Goddess of the Forest'—serving as a celebratory expression of her love for the natural world."

More talented Young Artists at Art in Prospect Park! Only 8 days away...
Artist Profiles: Cora's Reptile and Amphibian Creations, and The Artistry Shop

Cora Miller Shank loved learning about Freaky Frogs as a student at Paton Elementary. Inspired by their class book project and her 2nd favorite YouTuber, Snake Discovery, she began making stretchy bookmarks with reptile and amphibian themes. Adding to her art work, Cora makes frog themed paperweights; some have a space to display a card or photo. This summer she sold her crafts to have spending money in Costa Rica where she got to see amazing frogs in person; be sure to ask her about the trip when you see her!

The Artistry shop is put forth by a young artist who has had an active interest in creating art pieces since she was five. Her artworks comprise of various media such colored pencil, oil pastel, watercolor and sketching. Her artwork has been showcased in various competitions and her artwork made the cover of the India Day 2025 Brochure. In her free time, she likes to read, ride her bike and play with her younger brother.

Artist Profiles: Kimia Zaer and Will Clifford

Kimia Zaer () is a 6th grader at Sherwood Middle School. What started as a general interest in art slowly turned into a focus on needle felting - especially puppies and other animals! Kimia has done most of her art training at Viz Art in Northborough with Ms. Irina and continues to take lessons there. Aside from art, she also likes skateboarding, tennis, and soccer.

Will Clifford () is a 13-year-old artist who draws inspiration from pretty much everything he loves—whether he’s gaming on vintage consoles, watching movies, or refueling with a bag of Doritos. His art style is packed with lively cartoon expressions that highlight his quick wit and niche sense of humor. Passionate about digital creation and animation, Will is always hanging out on the digital canvas, leveling up his skills and bringing new ideas to life.

Artist Profile: Rishi Gandhi
We are very excited to welcome Rishi to AiPP. Rishi Gandhi is a senior at Mass Academy in Worcester and a passionate modular origami artist. What began with simple paper cranes grew into creating intricate geometric designs from hundreds of individual pieces. His work combines creativity, patience, precision, and a love for transforming paper into art. This exhibit celebrates his journey from simple folds to extraordinary creations.
