Hope to see everyone tomorrow night. Tuesday, September 9 to hear, Stacey Melerine, Vice President, BESE District 4 Representative at River Bend Rotary Club weekly meeting at The Pearl.

Stacey Melerine is a native of the Shreveport/Bossier area and currently works at Travelers Insurance as an attorney. She received her Bachelor of Science from Louisiana Tech University in 2008 and her law degree from Southern University in 2011. Prior to law school, she worked as an abstractor for a commercial developer.

Melerine was named one of the Greater Shreveport Chamber’s Young Professional Initiative 40 Under Forty in 2013. Melerine currently serves as Secretary for Junior League of Shreveport Bossier and is a former member of the board of directors of Catholic Charities of North Louisiana and Girls on the Run of Shreveport. She was recognized as the Junior League’s Volunteer of the Year for her work as the Red Apron Pantry’s Chairman during COVID. The food pantry was one of the few to not close their doors for even a day during the pandemic and, in fact, expanded the number of individuals served. Melerine is also a member of the Louisiana Bar Association. She is married to Michael Melerine. They live in Shreveport with their son and two daughters.

Hope to see everyone tonight at River Bend Rotary at 5:30 at The Pearl to hear Laura Williams present. Laura Williams serves as the Philanthropy Assistant at Shriners Children’s Shreveport, where she brings a multifaceted background. She has prior experience in government and IT services as a manager at GDIT’s call center operations. Laura also served as assistant manager at Kendra Scott, where she oversaw events and fundraising initiatives benefiting local charities.
At Shriners Children’s Shreveport, Laura plays a key role in coordinating third-party fundraisers, managing corporate partnerships, building community relationships, and supporting the broader philanthropy team in its mission to serve children in need.

Good to have Cole with the Krewe of Gemini come out and speak to us last night!! Cole is a member of our River Bend Rotary Club and the Captain for Gemini this year. He gave an amazing presentation on Gemini and the history of Mardi Gras in the Ark-La-Tex and how much of an economic impact that all the Krewes have on Shreveport-Bossier!
