Our Story
St Luke’s has been providing the community with the Pumpkin Patch since 1990. We give 100% of our Pumpkin sales proceeds to local missions! Over the past 29 years, we have donated over $263,437 (over half a millions dollars!!!) to local charities. We earn about 36.14% (average) on what we sell; the remainder goes to the growers for their expense in growing the crop and delivering it to us. We earn our expense money by selling cookies, water, t-shirts, hay, and other things at the patch. So you are helping us provide the patch by buying the other stuff WITH your pumpkins. We could not do this without your patronage of our patch! Thank you!!!! The Local Charities we have donated to recently are --- CADA of NWLA, Cavanaugh Adolescent Center, LA Methodist Children Home, Oakwood for Women, Gingerbread House, Providence House, Plant a Seed after School Program, Samaritan Counseling Center, Shreveport Bossier Community Renewal, Shreveport Rescue Mission, Heart of Hope, Youth Challenge Program (Camp Minden), The Hub, Purchased (Not for Sale), Salvation Army After School Program, The Arc Caddo-Bossier (horseback riding for kids with Autism). Each year we try to add new or different things to make our patch a fun, family friendly outing. We routinely provide a “Trunk or Treat” event as a safe alternative to Halloween for the kids. We host it in our gym in case of inclement weather. We also invite local school children to come visit the patch as a field trip. This past year we had around 2,000 children come through our patch to learn about pumpkins and spend some time in the patch itself. PLEASE NOTE: We do not allow any Professional Photography in our patch because it interferes with the family atmosphere that we try to maintain. Thank you for respecting this.
