✨ Leadership isn’t measured by the crown you wear—it’s measured by the lives you impact.
Some people earn recognition through achievement. Others leave a lasting impact through the way they serve.
Courtney Patterson is doing both. 💜
A proud native, Courtney has established herself as one of LSU Shreveport’s most inspiring student leaders by combining academic excellence, servant leadership, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting others.
Whether she’s representing her university as 2025–2026 LSUS Homecoming Queen 👑, leading the Tau Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® 🩷💚, competing in the Miss Louisiana Organization 👸🏾, or encouraging kindness through her We Are H.U.M.A.N. 🤝 initiative, Courtney continues to prove that true leadership begins with purpose.
Her journey is built on faith, determination, compassion, and a genuine desire to make a difference—not only on campus, but throughout the Shreveport community.

👑 A Leader Among Her Peers
Courtney’s commitment to excellence was recognized when students selected her as the 2025–2026 LSU Shreveport Homecoming Queen.
More than a crown, the honor represents the respect, admiration, and confidence her fellow students have placed in her leadership, integrity, and character.
She also made history by becoming the first Miss Black Student Union at LSU Shreveport, a milestone that reflects her passion for representation, empowerment, and creating opportunities for future student leaders.
As President of the Tau Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® 🩷💚, Courtney continues the sorority’s rich legacy of scholarship, sisterhood, and service while helping strengthen her campus and community.
She is also an active member of the Black Student Union, where she continues to advocate for unity, inclusion, and meaningful student engagement.

💜 Leading With Humanity 🤝
One of Courtney’s proudest accomplishments is creating “We Are H.U.M.A.N.”
This initiative is centered on promoting:
💜 Kindness
🤝 Compassion
🌎 Inclusivity
❤️ Genuine Human Connection
Her platform encourages others to lead with empathy, serve selflessly, and remember that even the smallest act of kindness can have a lasting impact.
When asked how she strives to lead, Courtney shared a message that perfectly reflects her heart:
“Always striving to be an example of kindness, compassion, and inclusivity to everyone.”
Those aren’t just words—they’re values she demonstrates every day.

👸🏾 Representing Louisiana With Excellence
Courtney’s leadership extends beyond the LSUS campus through her involvement in the Miss Louisiana Organization.
As a five-time local titleholder, she has dedicated years to developing herself through scholarship, leadership, public speaking, and community service.
During the 2025 Miss Louisiana Competition, Courtney represented her title as Miss Belle of the D’Arbonne, where she earned the Preliminary Health & Fitness Award 💪, recognizing her dedication to discipline, wellness, and confidence.
Today, she proudly serves as Miss Red River City 👑, continuing her pursuit of the Miss Louisiana crown while inspiring young women to believe in themselves and lead with purpose.

🌟 Empowering Future Leaders
Courtney’s leadership has also been recognized through LSU Shreveport’s Women in LeadHERship Conference, where she was selected to help encourage women throughout the Shreveport-Bossier area to embrace leadership, resilience, and personal growth.

🍎 Inspiring the Next Generation
Currently a senior at LSU Shreveport majoring in Elementary Education, Courtney aspires to become a 5th-grade teacher, where she hopes to inspire, educate, and positively impact the lives of young students.
For Courtney, education is about much more than teaching lessons—it’s about helping children discover confidence, purpose, and the belief that they can accomplish anything they set their minds to.
Speaking about the university she proudly represents, Courtney said:
“I would be honored to represent the university that has given me so much.”
That statement reflects the humility and gratitude that have become the foundation of her leadership journey.
