It’s just a cooking competition… right?

Not exactly.

This fundraiser generates nearly $50,000 in unrestricted funds — and in the nonprofit world, that matters more than you might think.

Most of the funding we receive is designated before it ever reaches us. It has a specific purpose and can only be used in certain ways. But unrestricted funds? Those dollars change everything for our organization.

Every dollar invested — as a sponsor, a cooking team, or a festival guest — stays right here in our community. It supports children, youth, and families in crisis. It fuels the people doing the work. It creates real, lasting impact.

When you show up, YOU become part of the mission. YOU become the community caring for children, youth, and families.

That’s the WHY.

Another great day of supporting local youth hockey. We handed out a bunch of donated gear to kids as they start the Mudbugs Youth Hockey Learn to Play program. Thank you to all who donated and made it possible.

Congratulations to Logan McNeil for winning the George Cloutier & Solan Peterson Memorial Leadership Award. This will be awarded to a Senior on the Mudbugs High School Varsity Hockey Team who shows exemplary leadership on and off the ice. It’s awarded by Shreveport Mudbugs Hockey and Mudbugs Youth Hockey staff and coaches.
